"This is not the first time we have used The Paint Doctor. They painted the exterior of our house and also the first floor interior with two story high ceilings, so we knew we would be happy with their work. This job was a bit different. Before painting, the wallpaper in our kitchen had to be removed. It had been up for 25 years and did not want to come off. Jesse, our painter worked diligently, and got the paper off, textured and painted the walls and it looks great. Jesse did a professional job and was fun to work with. We were really impressed by the quality of work and the results and would not hesitate to have the Paint Doctor, and specifically, Jesse, handle any future painting projects. Prior to this job, we got several estimates, and the Paint Doctor beat them all."

"Cameron arrived and finished garage floor epoxy job on time, showed sample finishes for selection, explained process and schedule, was easy to work with, performed work at a fair price, and finished job looks really nice.  We chose the "pewter" (gray) finish without added flecks or non-skid grit.  Finishing a floor with epoxy takes several days due to necessary acid etching, rinsing and drying of floor, epoxy coat, clear coat over epoxy, and 72 hour curing of epoxy/clear coat before use.

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

The pros of wallpaper include its durability and longer lifespan than paint, as well as its versatility. The durability can translate to lower long-term costs for upkeep and replacement, and the versatility means you have more options for customizing rooms in your home. Some downsides include that it’s difficult to remove, it’s not ideal for rooms or areas exposed to high moisture content or sun exposure, and it’s tricky to install. A professional wallpaper hanger can help mitigate these issues, though, by installing it properly and in areas suitable for wallpaper.

Small amounts of wallpaper can be thrown away in your household trash. If you’re removing a whole home’s worth of wallpaper, you may need to contact a waste removal company, rent a dumpster, or schedule a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste removal service. Wallpaper isn’t recyclable, so no matter which method you choose to dispose of it, make sure it doesn’t get mixed in with the recycling.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.

While textured walls can elevate a space in many ways, there are a couple of downsides to consider. Namely, they’re hard to clean, and some textures fall out of fashion quickly. Make sure to consider all your options to find one you truly love before diving in.
