"I had 8 inches of snow on my driveway and needed to leave my home to get to work (healthcare). I frantically started reaching out to Snow Removal Service companies and Brandon was the first to return my message (in less than 10 minutes). Fortunately, he had a crew in town who was able to come to my home and shovel me out. The two team members were professional, efficient, and very friendly. Five star rating for Advanced Gutters … I highly recommend them!"

"Really great. Michael the owner is dedicated to excellence in every aspect of his company. Michael took very good care of us, as did his office staff, and the roofers themselves. Michael immediately saw that there was no vent thru roof for the upstairs bath fan as we have no attic. He helped saved us from a potential future problem and added expense as we are selling our home. Everyone was so nice and respectful. His prices are competitive and fair. Roofing was delivered. Home was roofed in one day. They cleaned up everything. You never knew they were there. The roof looks fantastic. Michael came back personally to do the final walkthrough and he did some caulking for us (he didn't have to) so the wasps wouldn't go under the flashing. Michael is the best. WE ARE SO HAPPY WE CHOSE WYNDHILL ROOFING & GUTTERS LLC"

"I thought it went well. Their project manager Cristina was good to interact with and she was able to schedule in the jobs and got it done within three weeks since the contract and initial down payment was made. There was a minor issue and in that i felt the contractor could have been proactive in taking measures to color match the siding instead of relying on homeowner. After the job was done, the nails were not cleaned up completely around the house. I had a flat tire and I don't think the cause was completely based on them not completely cleaning. I would definitely hire them again.."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Whether salt melts ice overnight will depend on how low the temperature drops. If temperatures stay around 30 degrees Fahrenheit, you can count on salt melting ice overnight. Otherwise, the lower temperatures get, the less effective the salt is in melting ice, and the more likely you’ll wake up with a slippery driveway the next day.

In most municipalities, snow removal is compulsory in public spaces, including the sidewalk in front of your house, so you need to remove snow there. You could face fines for failure to clear your sidewalk in a timely manner—usually within 24 hours of the snowfall stopping. More importantly, your sidewalk needs to be safe for pedestrians to use, and you could face legal issues if someone slips on your sidewalk because you failed to clear it. Sidewalk removal services might seem expensive, but they’re well worth it to avoid these issues.

The best snow removal tools include a snowblower or a plastic shovel since they're less likely to damage your driveway's surface. Metal shovels can crack asphalt and concrete. It's also a good idea to install driveway markers since they can make it much easier for you to identify where you should shovel without damaging the surrounding yard.

Natural ice melts can often get the job done without damaging concrete. You can try non-corrosive options such as kitty litter, alfalfa meal, coffee grounds, sugar beet juice, and heated snow-melting mats. While they may cause some staining, these natural melts are safe for concrete, pets, and the environment.

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.
