"FEMA required that our commercial property grade be raised out of the new floodplain. I pulled together bids from numerous companies and got their opinion on how they would go about the project because of it being in a hard to reach area. Of all the bids, Buds was the most affordable, and his approach to handling the project was very straight forward and made the most sense. He got started right away and stayed on the project every day until it was complete, which didn't take long. He stuck to his quote and there were no surprises. The site has been surveyed and the work looks good down to every detail. Bud and his company BMG Services will always be my go-to service provider for any future projects."

"I met David Rogers, the owner of this company 23 years ago after purchasing a 7 acre parcel of raw land. An architect provided his name. The project was located at an elevation of 9300 ft above sea level. The residential home had some inherent building challenges involving varied steep pitched roof lines and an â eyebrowedâ window on the 2nd floor. The project was started in the fall before the snow started to fall. He and his crew exhibited extraordinary diligence and perseverance thru the winter months and the entire project. The end result was a masterfully constructed dream home standing up to the harshest of Colorado winters. Over the years, weâ ve called on David to do some additional interior design projects. His suggestions were always tasteful and well received. All were completed within budget while continuing to display perfection in every detail. Simply put, heâ s a master builder in whom we have complete and total trust."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

A land survey can take anywhere from a few hours to a month or more, depending on the size of the property, the type of survey, the property’s accessibility and topography, and the availability of historical property records. A simple boundary survey to determine a fence line can be completed in a day while surveying 50 acres of undeveloped woodlands may take weeks or longer.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

Before property transactions or major improvements to ensure accuracy.

You will find a collection of licensed land surveyors in your area. Your real estate agent or construction manager may also be able to recommend a trusted professional. When speaking with prospective pros in your area, ask the land surveyor if they are licensed in the state, have liability insurance, and can quote you a fee before starting.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.
