"BUYER BEWARE: This company promises that they can handle the $800 Xcel rebate for installing a heat pump water heater, but have been unable to actually do so. In total, using this company cost us AT LEAST $1,050 over what we would have paid with a different installer. Explanation of where I got the $1,050 number (read on if ye be brave): When I first reached out to this company, they sent over Dan. Dan is great -- he has a good sense of humor, he speaks the lingo well, and he's quick to say yes to any questions (which in hindsight should have been a red flag). Questions like whether the company could handle the rebate offered by Xcel for heat pump water heaters. Questions like whether his company could hook up the water heater if there was a junction box nearby. He mentioned that they don't have electricians on staff, but that he could put me in touch with 'his guy' to set up the electrical before they installed the water heater. And here should have been red flag #2. Dan's 'guy' never responded. In fact, Dan didn't even send me the contact details -- I had to reach out to the All American Drain Cleaning office to get a number for a person that didn't reply. No problem; it's the modern day, and Thumbtack is a thing. I was able to find an electrician to install the new junction box within a few feet of the water heater. Cost for that was $566 (which I'm not including in my $1,050 number). Day of the install. A new installer comes over. Removes my old water heater, installs the new one. Everything is going well until he shows me what he's done. "Gee," I say. "It sure doesn't look like the water heater's been connected to that shiny new junction box over there." At which point he tells me that this company cannot connect electrical wiring. Fam. Fam. Now I would ASSUME that these people install a lot of water heaters. We went with the water heater that THEY RECOMMENDED. So why in the seven hells did they not inform us that we would need to bring in an electrician after the fact to actually wire the darn thing in? ESPECIALLY given that this left us in a position of either: finding an electrician to do emergency/day-of work, or going without hot water until we could find someone. We were able to find an electrician. But -- whereas the first electrician mentioned they would have thrown in the work for free if they'd been out there -- this rush job ended up setting us back another $250. Oh golly, you can bet that $250 makes it into my final $1,050 number. And by the way, I spoke with the installer to ask why he wouldn't at least tell us about the need for an electrician before he removed the PERFECTLY GOOD AND WORKING water heater, and he said it was easier to do his work without possibly rubbing elbows with an electrician. Ok, so water heater installed. Electrical wired up. It turns on and everything seems to be going alright. But here comes the real kick in the shins -- heat pump water heaters are expensive, so we'd like to get the paperwork for that Xcel rebate moving. I've called their office goodness knows how many times, but have yet to hear a peep about actual progress on the rebate paperwork. That's $800 I'm basically giving up on at this point. $800 + $250 = $1050. Thanks for listening to my TED talk."

"Over 7 weeks AND 13 visits, we were intermittently subjected to gas leaks, water leaks, no hot water or heat and error codes on our tankless water heater. They took advantage of the fact that my 2 teenagers and I had no hot water and no heat and continuously up-charged us. During that time, they charged an extra $1900 over the original estimate of $4000. All of the issues were because they failed to recognize that my existing venting didn’t match the new unit (even though they added to the venting) and because they didn’t provide drain piping to manufacture recommendations. They offered me money back and then rescinded the offer as the problems they should have caught just continued. I ended up “chatting” with the manufacturer and showing them screenshots to prove the venting was wrong. They offered a cleaning crew after I complained and already cleaned up the mess they ground into the carpet. When I asked to speak to the owner/DORA license holder, Levi Torres, I was told Levi “doesn’t take phone calls”. Clearly, he only takes your money and wastes your time."

"Terrible experience. I had hired Mike multiple times previously and had great outcomes. Then, I wanted to replace plumbing in half of my home. He send his employee, who was a total nightmare! Screaming profanities in my home, never working, my husband ended up asking Shawn to leave. One of Bathrooms needed to be redone, because Shawn did all the work incorrectly. "King Rooter & Plumbing came out and completed warranty work on our sump pump. Upon completion the sump pump leak was repaired and they cleaned up all the toxic water. I was satisfied that they came out very quickly to take care of our home. Unfortunately we continued to smell an odor and we noticed our Radon numbers were increasing. We had a radon mitigator come out and inspect what was happening and He noticed right away that the sump pump was not properly sealed and was leaking. I reached out twice to King Rooter and asked for the owner to call me back to address the issue but he would not return my call. This was a huge safety issue for my family to not seal the toxic fumes from our household. It seems like they are more interested in their “Good, Better, and Best quotes” than taking care of their customers."
