"Had an emergency water pipe leak with water running into the basement where Groundworks had already installed a sump pump and drainage system. The pump clogged up with mud and wouldn’t work. Josh Moreno responded and worked so hard getting the system apart and cleaned out. Unfortunately he couldn’t finish until we got someone out to dig up the front yard and replace main water line. Josh was here first thing Monday morning and finished cleaning the system out, tested everything, and got everything working again. We are so thankful he responded to our home and took care of it. Thanks Josh!"

"My old water heater went out yesterday and of course leaked water all over. I shut it off and stopped the leaking. Called early this morning looking for someone to install a new one. Jim was actually sent over by another plumber who could not get to my job right away. Jim showed up, looked at the job, we talked about the options and he gave me a bid. Let to get the new water heater. We back in about thirty minutes. He had to make some changes to the water and gas lines. Added shut offs and installed new one. Took the time to explain operation and maintenance of the new one. Cleaned up the work site. Removed all debris and old water heater. I was impressed with his work and his attitude.

"Very professional. Jeromy wore a mask. He was polite and cleaned up the area after the install. I have a Choice Home Warranty and called them for the plumbing repairs. All i had to pay was a contractor service fee. In the future if i need a plumber i will ask for the Company OSP Plumbing in the Henderson/ Las Vegas Nevada area and ask for Jeromy."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Schedule plumbing projects in late summer or early fall before harsh Sterling winters arrive. Watch for visible scale buildup on fixtures, reduced water pressure, or discolored water, as local hard water heavily impacts pipes. Older homes built between the 1940s and 1970s feature galvanized steel pipes or clay sewer lines that corrode over time. Inspect crawl spaces for damage after the spring thaw to catch winter-related pipe stress early.

Helpful?

Plan underground plumbing work between late spring and early fall to avoid deep ground frost during Sterling winters. Always verify that your professional holds a valid state license before starting any work. Locate your main water shutoff valve and coordinate with municipal utilities if the project requires shutting off the city meter. Submit permit applications well in advance, as local offices require extra time to process paperwork and schedule inspections.

Helpful?

Thorough plumbing work always includes a closed permit with a final inspection sign-off from local authorities. A licensed contractor will ensure installations meet CO altitude requirements, especially for water heaters requiring proper combustion venting. After the project, verify that your water pressure remains consistent with municipal supply levels. Check for leaks over the next two days and confirm that drains flow smoothly without gurgling sounds.

Helpful?

Always obtain a copy of the final inspection record to confirm your permit is officially closed. Flush your system thoroughly to clear out debris from new pipe connections. Insulate all newly installed pipes in unheated spaces before sub-zero CO winters arrive. Disconnect and drain exterior hose bibs to prevent freezing. Request a post-work camera inspection for underground sewer line repairs to ensure expansive clay soils have not caused shifting.

Helpful?

Homes in older Sterling neighborhoods feature single-stack systems and uninsulated pipes routed through exterior walls, increasing freeze risks. Tight crawl spaces with limited clearance make pipe access difficult. Expansive clay soils shift with moisture changes, stressing underground sewer lines. Properties near the river face high water tables that complicate excavation. Slab-on-grade foundations demand breaking through solid concrete to reach drain lines, adding significant complexity.
