"Yes, though there were some bumps and burps along the way. He was the only plumber to respond to my emergency leak calls, though he lives in the next county. There was some trouble getting parts in my small town and I was without water for several days. Anyway, I now have running water again! I never thought I would ever look forward so much to doing laundry. 🙂"

"This is the second shower that Michael Williams has done for us and is very easy to work with and displays professionalism in all he does. His attention to detail is outstanding with a desire to insure that we are aware of the choices for placement of shelves and such to make the final product work best for us. Mike went the extra mile to insure that everything went well and suggested how we could complete the surrounding work that results in a great and beautiful remolded bathroom. We were happy with the support for the Bordner team in meeting and solving any concerns we may have had. Mike is a great example of what you would hope for in a person that comes into your home. He takes care to work with you and respects your home and does a great job of leaving the work area clean. Thank again Mike for a job well done. We would look forward to having you in our home again for other projects."

"They were not our least expensive bid but had a comprehensive package. The work was done well with a very neat/clean install by a very pleasant technician who worked with me on finding the best, least disruptive location for the system. The clean-up was excellent. These guys are professional and great to work with. Hire them!"

"Al and James completed my annual maintenance yesterday and they were very professional. They fixed some plumbing issues on my sump pump and fortified the sump pump outlet piping to prevent possible further issues. They also took special care to replace and improved upon the original floor linear over the sump pump and left the crawl space spotless."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Homeowners taking on plumbing projects in CO make several critical errors, including skipping necessary permits for repairs beyond simple fixture swaps. Another major mistake is leaving supply lines exposed during unpredictable shoulder-season freezes. Connecting new fixtures to deteriorating cast iron or galvanized pipes causes rapid connection failures. Finally, installing water heaters without adjusting for high-altitude combustion requirements leads to unsafe operation. Address hard water scale buildup to protect new installations.

Helpful?

Before scheduling plumbing work in Salida, document your property’s specific infrastructure. Note whether your home uses municipal water or a private well, and identify your main water shutoff location. Record the age and material of your pipes, such as galvanized steel or copper. Note any water hardness issues and measure your crawl space access points. Gather past permit records to ensure all previous work meets current code requirements.

Helpful?

Structure your seasonal plumbing routine around CO weather patterns. In the fall, drain exterior hose bibs and insulate crawl spaces before the first hard freeze. Monitor water pressure throughout the winter, as sudden drops indicate freezing pipes. During spring runoff, run water through all fixtures to clear heavy sediment. Finally, inspect irrigation systems and check for slow drains caused by root intrusion before high-use summer months.

Helpful?

Thorough plumbing work in Salida always includes a passed final inspection from local authorities. A qualified professional will verify adequate insulation on pipes in unconditioned spaces and install frost-proof exterior hose bibs. They will test water pressure across multiple fixtures and document all materials used. The strongest indicator of correct installation is a system that successfully withstands a full freeze-thaw cycle from October through May without recurring issues.

Helpful?

When planning plumbing projects in Salida, prepare for specific local challenges. High elevation alters water pressure, requiring adjustments to pressure-reducing valves. Trenching through rocky, caliche-heavy soil demands extra time and equipment. Opening walls in older historic homes reveals hidden freeze damage or outdated galvanized pipes that require immediate replacement. Always secure required local permits to avoid retroactive fees and stop-work orders.
