"Rocky did a pretty good job of removing the wallpaper from 3 bathrooms. However, he did leave some paper and glue on the walls so I had to go back and scrape this away as I had a painter coming to finish the walls. He also didn't cover up the mirrors, lighting fixtures or floors, so it took me a very long time to clean this sticky mess up. The light bar fixtures may have to be replaced because the liquid used to remove the paper left etching marks and cannot be removed."

"Tom did a fabulous job. He was punctual, attentive and very patient. When I was unhappy with the mantle color that I had selected, he worked with me to find another color and repainted it. I would strongly recommend him!"

"Nicholas did a complete repaint of my basement and I could not have asked for a better experience! Not only was he professional, but his talent really shined when he selected price competitive paint for an extremely large job. Nicholas treated our home as if it was his own and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. 10/10 would recomend to EVERYONE!"

"They say the most important part of a paint job is the prep work. Ireland's Finest did very poor prep work. Caulking was slopped on as if a panacea to performing the work well and painted over before it cured. Dirt was painted over everywhere (see pictures). The sales person told me that rotting woodwork would be repaired with Albatron wood restoration products (one of the reasons I selected I.F.), and i came home to find caulk smeared on instead to build up rotten wood. I was told that glazing putty would be used to repair failed glazing putty and came home to find caulk being used for glazing putty. In each case I had to repeatedly ask that the workers do the prep work correctly only to find corners were being cut to expedite the work. I requested the hardware be removed and was told, "we always remove the hardware" only to come home to find hardware painted over. I ended up having to remove the hardware. When I reinstalled the screens they would no longer fit due to the volume of caulk slopped into corners of the window frames. Yes, I had to reinstall the screens, I guess because I removed the hardware, so I would have to reinstall it. This was after having to repair several stretched and cut screens due to the lack of care they took handling them. When they did fit, the screens adhered to the paint and underlying uncured caulk and became fixed in place damaging wood screen frames. I was told the old wood window sashes would not be painted shut. Windows now are painted shut and after much work on my part to break them loose, the will not operate correctly due to the paint and caulk slopped into the window tracks. I had been promised that care would be taken to do the prep work properly, a specific point of my discussions with their preconstruction sales person. They were by far not the least expensive bid I received. I was ok to pay the extra expecting a quality job. I will say that they did a good job masking and painting well over the dirt. I have included a few representative photos. All in all a very disappointing experience."

"Most amazing expierence I have had with a painter.  Mickey was kind, and extremely patient.  Help me pick out just the right colors I was looking for and created a unique design for each and every room.  He was prompt, considerate, and extremely affordable.  A+++ on painting technique. So perfect!!!!  I would not hesitate to use him again.  I will never use anyone else."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Accent walls can feel out of place or distracting if not well designed. Accent walls that don’t fit in with a room’s style can feel jarring or overpowering. Some accent wall styles can also feel dated, but fortunately, it’s easier to update a single wall than an entire room.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

The cost varies from $1 to $3 per square foot, depending on the type of wallpaper, the wall condition, and the labor involved.

When comparing peel-and-stick and traditional wallpaper, the better choice depends on your specific needs and space. Peel-and-stick wallpaper is more budget-friendly and easier to DIY install. On the other hand, traditional wallpaper lasts much longer and holds up better in a wider variety of spaces, including areas with moisture like kitchens and bathrooms.

Wallpaper in bathrooms can last anywhere from one to 10 years, depending on what type was used, how well it was installed, and the measures in place to reduce moisture and humidity levels. Opting for a more durable variety and taking all the necessary protective measures will get you closer to that longer lifespan.
