"We contacted Dale, at Colorado Pet Fence, this past Sunday morning, and he was at our home on Monday. My husband and I are long time customers of Invisible Fence, but when I contacted them earlier last week about a malfunction in our system resulting in our dogs escaping and the injury to one that required surgery, we were told the earliest they could respond would be almost a month away. When I commented on their lack of prompt customer service I was told there are many other people asking for service ahead of us. We've cancelled future supplies and service with Invisible Fence and will depend on the fast, efficient and caring service from Dale at Colorado Pet Fence."

We are a custom landscape installation and maintenance company with a wide range of services. Included are new installation, renovations, maintenance, lighting, irrigation, paver patios and walkways, retaining walls in almost any material, water features, snow removal, and more. We have 2 total employees ranging in experience from 20+ years down to 2 years. We do not use subcontractors for anything except gardening. We give free estimates which constitutes an initial consultation and estimate. Anything beyond a 1 hour consultation is billed at my hourly rate of $95, which would be rolled into the estimate should a customer contract work with us. We offer a 5% discount to Angies List members.

The height of your garden fence depends on your goals and priorities. Do you need to keep rabbits out? Then you’ll need at least two feet in height to do so. Is it more of a privacy fence? For that, you’ll want to construct something at least 7 feet tall so that there’s little chance anyone can see over the fence. Since wood is weaker when installed horizontally versus vertically, a horizontal fence is prone to sagging. You can prevent this drooping from happening by building a sturdier fence. Use softwoods that are more stable, such as cedar and redwood, or denser hardwoods for your fence materials. If you can’t afford these pricey materials, use thicker two-by-six pressure-treated pine boards or shorten the span the fence boards have to cover by installing more posts.

Permit requirements for new fencing vary based on location. Typically, fences less than 6 feet tall in your backyard do not require a permit. Fences in the front yard usually have a lower height cap. There can also be exceptions if you live in a highly populated area or an area with mixed residential and commercial zones.
