"Amazing service. Tyler redid 2 of my boyfriend’s bathroom. He took out the bathtub and installed a walk in shower because my boyfriend is 86 and has trouble getting out of bathtubs. He also added a barn door shower in both bathrooms., he put in shower seats and grab bars in both bathrooms. He even came back to fix some issues we were having. He is considerate, understanding and really easy to talk to. I highly recommend this company."

"Dylan P and T.J. did an amazing job. Dylan explained exactly what they were going to do in removing old tile and bathtub and removing and replacing any damaged wood. The project took all day and they didn't take any breaks. Both of them were considering and professional. I would definitely recommend West Shore Home. I love my new shower!"

"Mark is easy to work with. He did my shower remodel, rebuilt my bathroom walls, and framed in a new door. All work was completed as drafted and I couldnâ t be happier with the result. "Dr. Domicile was great! They had an excellent price and were really flexible in how to go about the work. They were available quickly, showed up on time with all of the needed parts/supplies, performed the work seamlessly, and even checked with me if there was anything else they might help with. There was! I had them replace my kitchen faucet and check out my electrical system that had been having some issues. Their electrician walked me through his findings, provided helpful information, and located the root causes of the electrical problems. I hired them to replace/upgrade my breaker box and install grounding rods, at a very affordable price. I can't say enough good things about this company. Excellent experience and highly recommend."

"Outstanding job. Quick and efficient. Came to give me an estimate the next day and two days later, my walk-in shower was installed. I had to replace a tub/shower combination due to cracks on the flooring and leaking water and I chose to replace it with a walk in shower. It is really nice and I love it."

"We meet with a lot of companies, they all talked about value and seemed to be ridiculously expensive and specific. My Bath was a breathe of fresh air, they were able to accommodate all of our needs and they cared. Job was completed on time and looks beautiful."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes. Common materials for Roman tubs are acrylic, fiberglass, cast iron, and stone resin. The choice you make can depend on various factors, including weight, cost, durability, style, heat retention, and aesthetics. Ultimately, it really depends on your space to determine the best option.

You can resurface or reglaze your bathtub, and it’s faster and less expensive than replacing a bathtub. Plus, replacing a bathtub is an extensive and intrusive process that requires wall repairs. Refinishing is an excellent option if the old one is in good working condition.

There are also options to install a bathtub liner over your existing tub. However, if you’re seeking a new bathtub with new features, you’ll likely want to replace your tub.

The most common type of tub is the alcove; most bathtubs are shower and tub combinations. Many suburban homes feature these as the default option because they allow the flexibility for users to take a bath or a shower—a notable benefit for those with pets and young kids.

Yes, you can remove a bathtub yourself if you have previous DIY experience and basic plumbing knowledge. You should have at least one other person help you if you approach this project as a DIY. However, hiring a plumber or bathroom remodeling pro can prevent accidental damage from demolition or water leakage.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.
