"Everything was effortless with Movemasters: from the initial on-line request for a virtual call in which I walked through the house with a Movemaster's expert to identify not only the furniture to be moved, but also provide the layout of the house, to the ease of scheduling the move, the actual move and the follow up. The team of three lead by Logan was amazing: they were extremely careful with the furniture, but also never stopped for a minute! I wish I had that kind of energy! The original quote was spot on, too. I would not hesitate to use Movemasters again and will highly recommend them to anyone I know moving locally as I did."

Small jobs welcome

"Boris and his crew had an absolutely amazing experience with this moving company from start to finish. The team was professional, punctual, and incredibly efficient. They handled all of my belongings with great care, making sure everything was packed, transported, and delivered safely without a single issue. What really stood out was their positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to make the process stress-free. Moving can be overwhelming, but they made it feel easy and organized every step of the way. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy moving company. Thank you for making my move such a smooth and pleasant experience!"

"It was the most positive experience we have had for moving. The owner was great with communication and letting me know when the drivers were on the way. Thomas, David and Marcos were fantastic. They were so kind, professional and took great care with our items. They made what we anticipated to be a stressful move very easy and pleasant. I highly recommend this company!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

When planning an out-of-state move, you should aim to save enough money to cover at least two to three months of living expenses, including rent, food, utilities, and transportation. Ideally, saving for six months or more is best, especially if you don't have a job lined up. You also need to budget for the transition costs, such as a moving vehicle rental, hiring movers, and packing materials. Cross-country moves typically cost between $2,400 and $6,860. You can calculate your estimated moving costs in advance based on factors like distance, weight, and the number of bedrooms.

Yes, moving insurance is designed to cover some or all of the replacement cost in the event your items are damaged during transit. You can get coverage directly from moving companies or use a third-party moving insurance provider. Plus, you can get coverage from third-party insurers for yourself if you’re moving your belongings.

Yes, you can take your potted plants with you when you move if you use sterilized potting soil. However, some states have strict guidelines about this practice, so it’s best to consult the Department of Agriculture’s regulations surrounding pest control and plant types ahead of your move.

Products that are hazardous, such as aerosol sprays, top the list of what to leave behind during a move. Avoid packing perishables, garden and garage chemicals, pool supplies, compressed gases, and combustible items. If you are trying to move by yourself, you may want to downsize so you have fewer belongings to pack and move (and then unpack).

The number of boxes you need to move depends on the size of their house and whether your style is minimalist or maximalist. However, on average, most people need around 60 boxes to move. It’s essential to pick the correct box sizes to ensure efficient packing.
