"I had the best experience with All Service Moving! Mike and Stan absolutely rock - best moving team ever! They moved me into my new house from Sumner to Spanaway, then my mom a month later from Renton. They were so efficient, careful, professional and friendly. They made sure all our items were carefully wrapped and protected and they moved everything quickly, yet effortlessly - I wouldn't recommend anybody else to get you all settled into wherever your moving! Thank you guys!!"

"Brian, Pedro, and Jesus from Road Runner Moving did a great job today! I had some very heavy and expensive furniture that they carefully wrapped and moved with no damage to the furniture or either house. They were cheerful and professional. They also helped move around some additional items that were super heavy at our new house. The guys were truly great and would use them again!"

"Perfectly. The office staff set up everything carefully, and checked in with me several times before moving day to provide me with updates and to answer my questions. My moving team, Steve and Nick, were terrific: professional, kind, respectful. Not only did I have zero damages, but these two took great care to help place things and even gave me advice on how to set up my chest freezer, and more. If I move again, I will request these men by name. I chose the company because of their online video, which shows that the owner treats his employees as the valued professional they are."

"Prime Relocation Services moved me in record time and they did not damage a single thing! They are amazing! Last month I got a good and low deal from them. They sent their moving team on time on the day of the move and the guys moved everything very nicely. The packing was also done with care. All my things were in perfect shape when it was delivered. The guys also helped me unpack too! These guys are the best solution for your moving needs."

Moving questions, answered by experts

While your movers focus on packing and transporting your belongings, you can focus on other parts of your move, such as preparing children and pets to move or cleaning rooms as they’re emptied. You’ll need to be onsite as your movers pack or unpack your stuff, and can help direct movers to where items should go if they need help. Additionally, if there are certain items you’d prefer to move yourself, such as valuables or sentimental items, focus on packing those things and taking them with you during your move.

There are different types of moving companies, and you’ll want to look for one that has experience moving houses. Ask them how many houses they’ve moved, how long they’ve been in business, whether they coordinate all of the labor, permits, and subcontractors needed, and what their liability is for any damages incurred.

No, homeowners insurance does not typically cover moving expenses. Homeowners insurance provides coverage and pay-outs if you experience damage to the home you currently live in. You’ll need to save separately for moving expenses like hiring movers, renting a tow truck, or shipping your belongings.

The best way to move a 3-bedroom house long distance depends on your budget. Hiring a full-service moving company works best if you have a higher budget. If you’re on a tighter budget, renting a moving van and doing everything yourself is your best bet. Other options include renting a storage container, pod, or freight container. You can also ship your belongings if you don’t have many items.

Moving pods are most often available in three sizes: 8, 12, and 16 feet. To move a four-bedroom house, you’ll likely need two 16-foot moving pods. Of course, the exact answer depends more on your house’s square footage and the amount of belongings you have than on the number of bedrooms in the house. For example, moving a small four-bedroom house may only require one 16-foot pod and one 8-foot pod, but moving a large four-bedroom house may require more than two 16-foot pods.
