"Veteran Radon installed a radon mitigation system In our home on 2/19/26. They did a great job, and we recommend them highly! Jason came to our home to look at the situation so he could prepare an estimate. He was friendly, courteous, and happy to answer our questions. Our system was installed by Ken, who was thoughtful, conscientious and efficient. He gladly worked with us to locate the outlet of the system where it would have the least impact on our outdoor space. The work took only about half a day, minimizing disruption to our lives. His workmanship was excellent. The completed system looks very neat and well constructed. Everything fits beautifully. Prior to the installation, we had tests showing radon levels of 20.4 pCi/L and 25.9 pCi/L. Post-installation testing showed that our radon level was reduced to 0.7 pCi/L, well below the 4.0 pCi/L that the State considers acceptable."

"Called to ask about getting someone to come check on our radon system, which had stop working several months earlier. The person I spoke with, was friendly and very helpful. She was able to answer a few questions over the phone. She was also able to schedule someone to come out within the week. I was impressed that I received both an e-mail and phone appointment confirmation, the day before the technician was suppose to arrive. The technician showed up right on time, was professional and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. We needed a new fan for the system. Less than 30 minutes later, he was done and everything looks great. He left a radon testing kit that we will use in a week to make sure everything is working. Great experience and would definitely use them again in the future if needed."

"Kyle was fabulous from the beginning to the end. He and his team were professional, thorough and expeditious. I had a very stressful week with my boyfriend in the hospital and trying to manage the flood in my basement. This team took the worry about my basement out of my hands. I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Their price was fair and reasonable and I so appreciated all of their help and support. They were fabulous!"

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of a radon mitigation system depends on the type of system and its maintenance. With proper care, a system can last for many decades. Passive systems tend to last longer as they have fewer components that require replacement. Active systems, which have more moving parts like fans, generally have a shorter lifespan. For instance, water filtration devices and active pressurization systems require more frequent maintenance. While the system as a whole is durable, the radon fan in an active system typically has a lifespan of 5 to 10 years and will need to be replaced. As long as the fan is working, the mitigation system should function correctly.

The cost to replace a radon fan ranges from $300 to $600 for the fan itself, with installation adding an additional $200 to $500. Overall, the total cost for replacement can range from $500 to $1,100, depending on factors such as the fan model, home size, and local labor rates. If the fan is part of a larger radon mitigation system, the price may be higher.

Options include sub-slab depressurization, crawlspace ventilation, and sealing cracks. Choose based on home construction and radon levels.

Yes, many systems include warranties for performance. Confirm terms with your installer.

The soil beneath your house is most likely what’s causing an increased level of radon. This is because soil holds radioactivity for a long time and it’s also what most buildings are built on. Another common source of radon is water from a source that hasn’t been through periodic radon tests, such as well water. Over time, the radon from the soil can inhabit other parts of your house like the foundation or plumbing.
