"Edgar came out to our house the day after he found us through Angi. He was super personable, efficient, and affordable. We thought he did a great job at a very reasonable price. It doesnâ t hurt that our dog liked him too! If we need any services like this again in the future, we will be contacting him directly. We highly recommend Ziggyâ s Tree Care."

"I had Eden tree care remove a large 60 foot Ponderosa that was close to the house . Charles and his crew did an outstanding job . Watched Charles at work cutting the tree . Heâ s a very skilled arborist . With the tree that close to the house and directly above my fence . I was worried something would get damaged . He was very professional and made it look so easy . I would definitely recommend using Eden tree care and plan to use him in the future ."

"Roger & Mike were terrific; knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, efficient and friendly. They came within 24 hours of my call after a super wet, heavy spring snowstorm that did major damage to our 80 year old trees. They also helped me harvest the wood and stack it on my front porch. After hiring MANY tree service companies in the past, Mike & Roger were the first to show up promptly and do the job required for a reasonable price. Oh, and they cleaned up the job site afterwards. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thanks again, guys!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"Ben and his crew are great. They did a great job with the removal of two trees, the trimming of another tree and stump removal. One of the trees was in a really tight space surrounded by a shed, a fence, two houses and a garage. No problem! I highly recommend them."

"Ten tree trimmers worked on our Ponderosa Pines and took out a few scrub oaks. The men on the ground used saws attached to long poles and the ones in the trees climbed clear to the tops -- fun to watch. I hadn't realized how much dead wood we had in our trees; they look wonderful now. The crew picked up all the branches they cut, other branches that were on the ground before they came, and even some piles of pine needles. We enjoyed the experience and are very happy with the results."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

A standard tree removal doesn’t include stump grinding. If you want your contractor to remove your tree and grind the stump, you must pay an extra charge. That said, you’ll likely save on the cost of stand-alone service—especially if it’s a small tree and they can finish both jobs in a single trip.

Hiring an arborist or tree surgeon is usually more expensive than a standard tree company, but it is often worth the investment. Arborists have education and certifications that standard companies typically lack, leading to a more professional, expert-level service. Their expertise is particularly valuable for diseased or infested trees, as they can ensure safer removal and help prevent the issue from spreading. Additionally, arborists may be necessary for work near power lines, as uncertified companies are often not permitted to service these trees. If your goal is to preserve the health of your trees, an arborist is the best choice. Their services, such as stump grinding, are also performed with greater expertise to ensure a safe depth that won't cause your lawn to collapse over time.

Pruning trees during the summer can be a bad idea because the new growth will take place during the hottest months of the year, which can stress your tree out. Similarly, pruning during the early fall can be a bad idea, too, because you’d be stimulating new growth when most trees are aiming to go dormant.

Pruning recommendations will vary by the type of tree, but generally, waiting until winter to prune your trees is a good idea.

Not all leaning trees are dangerous, but they can be a hazard as gravity may eventually cause them to fall. A key factor is whether the lean is new or has been present for a long time. Trees that have grown with a lean for years are not typically an immediate danger, but a sudden lean is a cause for concern as it often indicates weakening roots. If a tree is leaning more than 15% from vertical, you should consider having it straightened or transplanted. To be safe, it's always best to hire a professional arborist to inspect any leaning tree to assess the risk and avoid potential accidents.

It’s not always easy to tell when a tree is dying, although signs like dropping branches and brittle bark can sometimes offer clues. It can also be difficult to know whether a tree is dead or dormant, especially if it’s a deciduous tree. You’ll want to wait until a growth season to get a good idea of a tree’s health. When in doubt, contact an arborist for a consultation.
