"Jason was very helpful explaining the testing process, and possible mitigation if our Radon levels were high. Radon testing was setup and conduced quickly and our levels were in acceptable ranges, so no mitigation was required."

"Radon exhaust fan was making noise. I did some research and ascertained bearings were failing in the fan. I arranged a good time to get it replaced, he showed up and had it replaced in about 20 minutes. I did give him the model number of the fan so he knew for sure what I needed. Quick and easy."

"I recently used #1 Radon to fix my existing radon mitigation system. I called and Jesse Fuller came to look at system same-day. He had it repaired the same week. He was professional and made me feel comfortable with work and costs to replace the existing fan. I highly recommend #1 Radon and Jesse Fuller."

"Our radon system was making an unusual humming noise and it was driving me crazy! I found The Radon Guy here on Angi. Shortly after posting my request, Giovanni contacted me and and within a couple of hours I had the answers I needed and a testing system set up to measure levels since they hadn’t been tested in 2 years. He explained the problem and because the fan is under warranty, will be having a new one installed soon. I appreciated Giovanni’s quick response, professional demeanor, fair pricing, and extensive knowledge. Highly recommend!!!"

"All Colorado Radon tackled a particularly difficult radon mitigation that other companies refused to mitigate. They were very thorough and knowledgeable. Most of all, they were successful in reducing radon levels to well below government standards. We would use them again."

"I couldn't be more pleased with the radon mitigation service John provided. The estimate was accurate-no surprises. He was prompt, efficient and quick- it took just over 2 hours and that's including answering all my questions (and I had a lot of questions!). John's customer service was excellent and the results have so far exceeded my expectations. I am very glad I chose RMR."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

You'll need to test your home for radon after installing the mitigation system, then again every two years. If radon remains elevated, contact a licensed radon professional, either the contractor who installed the system or a different one, and have them evaluate the system. They may need to make some changes to improve its effectiveness and performance.

You can vent radon out of your house sometimes by simply opening a window, but it won’t remove the source, and will likely rise above recommended levels quickly. A professional will be needed to assess your home, and determine the best strategy for radon removal. Active radon sump pumps and soil depressurization systems are often used to forcefully vent the radon from your home.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is present everywhere, complete avoidance is impossible. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking preventative measures if your home's radon levels are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is naturally present everywhere, it is impossible to avoid entirely. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking action to reduce radon levels if your home's test results are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

The average radon mitigation system uses about 876 kWh of electricity per year, although the exact amount of electricity used will vary depending on the size of the radon fan. Once the system is installed, the annual increase to your energy bill could range from $30 to $300 per year, again depending on the size of the fan.
