"Install was easy. Up front cost was pretty low with Angie's List coupon. Monthly price is a little high compared to competing companies. Response time with alarms is excellent. I was advised to use glass break alarms within 10 ft of my first floor windows, which we installed correctly. I asked prior to installation if having one in the kitchen would cause false alarms due to dishes clanging, etc. I was told the glass break alarms are configured to a precise frequency that alarms with breaking glass. So, not a "no", but not really an answer. Well, every time we cook dinner, wash dishes or empty the dish washer, the kitchen glass break alarm gives a warning which would sound the alarm if it was set. This has caused us a number of false alarms while we've been away due to shifting bowls or plates in our drying rack. For the first several we've had to pay our police department $120 to check the house, and I was only notified after the first alarm that there was a cheaper option for a security company to drive by to check for a break in."

"The job went very smoothly. The tech ran a bit late, but he called to say so. He installed a keypad by the front door and assessed the house for security. He suggested, since there are several casement windows in the living room and adjoining dining room that a breaking glass sensor would work better and be more cost-effective than alarming all the windows. He did alarm a door that the previous company (inherited when we bought the house twenty-three years ago) had not considered significant. I feel safer with the current sensor choices than the ones I had before.
He took the time to make sure I knew how to use the system, so I am very pleased with the service. My one caveat: I was told that the motion sensor would not register my smaller pets (two cats) because they weigh under forty pounds. They must have set off the sensor, though, because the police responded. The system certainly alerts the authorities, but that motion sensor is very sensitive!

"Joel was a wonderful support as we worked to secure our first home!  He showed up on our doorstep the day we moved in.  I usually don't respond to solicitors, but I saw his ADT uniform and we had been talking about getting an alarm system.  My wife wasn't there, so we scheduled a time for him to return.  What was great about Joel on his return visit is that he wasn't trying too hard to sell.  He listened well to what we needed, shared a bit about his own home security system, and walked us through all the options we needed.  It felt like he was trying to help us secure our home, rather than sell us a product.  Which made it a win-win when he sold us a product!  Joel's follow up and support with a minor issue in the first month made the transition to working with the corporate office for future concerns (not with the system, just when we do something to mess it up...user error...) very easy and comfortable.  I can't recommend Joel strongly enough.  We have been very happy with his service and with ADT as a whole."
