"Juan has done work for us over several years and we keep asking him to do more! He most recently helped patch holes in our drywall and ceiling, He also repaired our attic hatch, replaced the seal at the bottom of our garage door, installed a storm door, and put in a latch to hold our furnace filter in place. Juan does quality work AND is reasonably priced. He gives free estimates and schedules the work in a timely manner! We found a gem many years ago and will continue to hire him for projects!"

"Having experienced a homeowner's worst nightmare by one contractor, I contacted Jim DeCuzzi to rectify things based solely upon meeting him just one month earlier when he actually recommended against undertaking several minor/moderate sized projects in our home - believing the timing wasn't right (i.e., He was more interested in us rather than just collecting a paycheck - a rare trait in his field). Based on this experience I was impressed with both his technical competence to tackle our current large scale project (he's a walking construction/building encyclopedia), and even more importantly, the sense of integrity we were looking for in a contractor (never realizing I'd be calling him one month later). Having just completed 2 ½ months of renovations D&K proved to be everything a service company should be - professional, efficient, reasonable and most importantly trustworthy a company that respects its customers and places their interests first. Equally impressive was Jim's partner Steve Kessler every bit as technically competent and with the same sense of character to match. As the onsite supervisor, we couldn't have hoped for a more forward thinking or forward leaning individual to address the countless day-to-day decisions and activities inherent in coordinating all the efforts associated with restoring our home (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc.) As with any project this scale, it was not without its share of unanticipated problems. Jim and Steve were quick to diagnosis the issues, recommend a solution and employee the necessary resources to rectify the situation (i.e., no wasted time evaluating the situation while racking up unnecessary labor charges). Both were especially empathetic to our situation keeping us current on all developments which was a huge relief in alleviating the stress of trying to manage all the unknowns from a distance (we live in Boston). In sum, Jim and Steve are a one-of-a-kind TEAM. They are exceptionally polite, personable, competent and knowledgeable with the energy, enthusiasm and sprit de corps to tackle anything thrown at them. As a Marine I especially appreciated their professionalism, sense of urgency and attention to detail. It is also obvious they approach their work not so much as a job... but as a profession... a refreshing change from the norm, which makes a huge difference in the end result/product. I only wish we could find more contractors with the same work ethic and sense of service to their clients. We'll obviously be engaging their services in the future, and if you're starting the search process to evaluate contractors, you'll save yourself a lot of time and energy starting with Jim or Steve great guys dedicated to their customers and with a truly remarkable gift for doing things right."

"Cam's customer service was exemplary. He rearranged his schedule to come within 20 minutes of my call. He helped with my smoke detector and was very patient and thorough in explaining the steps I would need to take in the future if a similar issue arises."

"Leif with Innovative Contracting Services was great to deal with. I hired him for some drywall work I needed done in my bathroom. He was professional and polite. He responded quickly to my inquiry and scheduled the quote right away. The quote for the rate and time to complete the work was great. The bathroom looks great. I will be hiring him again in the future."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

For Brighton’s unique climate, keep essentials like a cordless drill, hammer, screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, and a sturdy level. Stock weatherstripping, freeze-resistant caulk, pipe insulation, and ice melt for winter. Include a roof rake for snow, gutter scoops for fall leaves, and a plumbing snake for minor clogs. Having these tools supports routine home maintenance and quick seasonal repairs.

Helpful?

Completing handyman projects in Brighton can enhance both home value and resale appeal. Energy efficiency upgrades, fresh exterior paint, and updated kitchens or bathrooms are especially desirable in this market. Addressing curb appeal, weatherproofing, and regular seasonal repairs helps your home stand out to buyers, making it more attractive and competitive in Brighton’s real estate landscape.

Helpful?

As a new homeowner in Brighton, prioritize handyman projects that address local weather extremes and common home issues. Start with HVAC system checks, attic and crawl space insulation, and sealing windows to handle temperature swings. Inspect sump pumps and drainage for spring runoff, and ensure gutters are clear to prevent ice dams. These home maintenance steps help protect your investment year-round.

Helpful?

When reviewing handyman quotes in Brighton, be wary of vague descriptions, unusually low estimates, or requests for full payment before work begins. Avoid professionals who lack written contracts, won’t share local references, or pressure you after hailstorms. Trustworthy providers in Brighton offer detailed home maintenance plans, communicate clearly, and have a strong reputation for seasonal repairs and customer satisfaction.

Helpful?

In Brighton, you can safely address minor home maintenance tasks like clearing clogged drains, replacing furnace filters, or adding weatherstripping to doors. Always shut off power before any electrical work and avoid outdoor repairs during icy or windy conditions. For gas-related issues, major plumbing, or structural work, it’s best to call a local handyman to ensure safety and compliance.
