When problem was diagnosed a company truck arrived with the needed part (part needed was unusual, so understandable that the part was not on the repairman's truck). Repair was made efficiently; significant time was taken to be sure that the system was working. Work area was left clean. Time was taken by repairman (Mark) to discuss problem with me and what to do to prevent future problems. Very pleasant and courteous. Respectful of my property. Applewood Plumbing Heating & ElectricHad big water leak and a couple of inches of water in my basement. Called Applewood at 11 AM and expressed some urgency. They had Matt and Eric out by early afternoon, quickly diagnosed the source of the leak, being a broken lead drain pipe from upstairs, and had things fixed in a couple of hours. The work seemed a little expensive, but in reality another person would not have found and fixed the problem so quickly or come out so soon plus they were nice to deal with, so no big complaints. i'm in the process off selling a home without air conditioning. Several buyers have requested this to be done for the sale to be completed. I contacted Now and took them out of their comfort zone by asking them to deliver a ballpark estimate using the Zillow listing and other photos that I provided. Called the company and they told us the furnace codes we had flashing were emergent and they recommended they come out same day. I paid $189 trip charge and was told it would need a new motherboard. 2.5 days later I still had not heard back on the timeframe or pricing for repair, making me question the validity of the urgency to begin with. Finally after three calls on my part, the customer service people initially not having clarity on what part was even needed, a tech who I was assured was senior in ranking and was ready to take care of the issue, was scheduled to come out to fix the issue at an agreed price of $359 for the proper part and labor with a $100 discount for inconvenience. He arrived, fixed the control switch and came back up to tell me the issue was not the control switch, but rather the mother board. I explained how I already knew this from the tech on Saturday and was very confused as to how he was not aware, further making me question what was communicated from the beginning and wondering how I could know the part but they did not. He said he needed to make a phone call because he was also confused. When he returned it was with a revised price of around $1150. I expressed my frustration and explained how I had already waited four days and wasted the first part of my week when I could have been getting other estimates. I told him I wanted to talk to his manager and he told me his manager would be waiting for my call because he warned him I would be upset. The manager was extremely rude and frustrated and told me he didn't know what happened but I would need to pay the full price if I wanted it fixed today. After clarifying that this mistake was not mine, he told me if I agreed to have it done today only, he would do it for $1000. I said I needed to call my husband and he proceeded to tell me sarcastically that it was not life or death and I could take my time. I eventually declined and called to inform them and never heard anything back. This company is terrible, doesn’t care about customers, and has zero communication and customer service skills. The manager I spoke with was not interested in rectifying the mistake or even apologizing for what happened.
