"Peter and his crew overlaid the asphalt in a parking lot at the new location of the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls & Toys at 830 Kipling. Peter and his crew did an amazing job. The parking lot was in very bad shape. But they removed damaged asphalt, milled it down, filled holes, dealt with Kipling traffic and overlaid the asphalt; blending it into the sidewalks and adjacent patio. They completed this efficiently and carefully. Stop by and take a look. I highly recommend 5280 SealCoating for all your paving needs!"

Small jobs welcome

"HS Asphalt provided a quick excellent quote and worked with us when we had some questions on the work they were going to do. In a very busy summer they kept us informed of when they would be able to get to the job, and then worked the job around our schedule. The job was done right when expected, and they provided pictures immediately after completing the work. All in all a superb experience and outcome."

Customers say: True professional

"Masonry D Services responded to my request for information almost immediately. Manny scheduled an on-site review and estimate the same day. He and his crew were here on the agreed upon date, bright and early. Manny was able to take a somewhat vague idea and translate it into a beautiful design. His personal attention to detail and high quality standards, provided us with an incredible patio and matching front porch. The team were hard-working, knowledgeable, polite, and they kept the area picked up as they worked. They did an outstanding job. I would highly recommend MDS and will use their services again."

"Jose brought all materials along and enough help to get the job done efficiently. He was here when he promised to be and did a very nice job of installing brick on the outside of my home addition. He did a good job of matching existing joints on the original structure and did a nice job on all of the detail required to make the project a success. I would definitely use his services again, without question."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

While water-related pressure caused by poor drainage is one common cause of paver cracking, other factors can include ground movement beneath pavers, heavy loads and wear and tear over the pavers, and climates with constant freeze-thaw cycles. In general, pavers should be resealed every three to five years to prevent cracking.

After removing existing moss, consider using paver blocking sand to fill the joints. This specialty material hardens once placed and serves as an effective barrier against moss and weeds. From there on, regularly clean your pavers and try to keep them dry. You can also seal your paver as a semi-permanent solution — just make sure you reseal every 3 to 5 years.

Gravel is the cheapest way to extend a driveway. Gravel is an affordable, practical option that’s easy to install and perfect for DIY projects, helping you save on labor costs. It can be quickly spread and leveled to create extra driveway space without heavy preparation. While gravel doesn’t offer the same durability or finished look as concrete or asphalt, its low cost makes it ideal for budget-conscious homeowners who want a functional solution without overspending.

The average cost of 1,500 square feet of asphalt ranges from about $10,500 to $22,500, depending on location, thickness, base material, and how accessible the job site is to crews and equipment. Keep in mind that your asphalt material cost may vary depending on its type, ranging from porous asphalt to heated blacktop. Standard asphalt costs $7 to $13 per square foot.

Yes, but it's best to kill off the grass with solarization and remove the dead plant matter before laying down the pavers. This helps limit the chance of your pavers shifting as the dead plant matter decomposes.
