I sent him pictures of what we needed removed & gave me a couple price quotes on what I was looking at price wise. We agreed on for Friday, 3 days after I first reached out to him. Wayne & his guys were great! He told me he would arrive between 1:45 & 2:00PM on 8/24 & arrived at 2:20 with communication letting me know he would arrive late due to traffic. No problem! They showed up, got straight to work & hauled heavy, dirty, rusted old junk into a huge moving van. Wayne was very very nice & his guys worked hard in the hot sun! They were in & out in about an hour & a half having filled up a 20-foot truck filled with junk! Very patient & accommodating. We will be contacting Wayne & his guys in the future for our next cleaning phase. Thanks Wayne!"

You’re generally responsible for the cost if you need to know the current value of your home to refinance your mortgage, though in some instances the lender will pay for it. The buyer pays for the appraisal when they are applying for their mortgage.

If installing board and batten fixes an issue with the home, it could increase the value, but it isn’t commonly installed for that purpose. Board and batten is an aesthetic choice and, like most aesthetic choices, will do little to raise your home’s value. That being said, certain design elements can help attract more buyers, even if your home’s price won’t see a noticeable bump. 

In most cases, selling a home in as-is condition will lead to a sale price that’s somewhere between 10% and 30% lower than normal. However, it’s often worthwhile to sell at a loss because the alternative would be to pay for the repairs yourself, which could end up costing you more. Even if they didn’t, selling as-is saves you from the time and energy you’d spend coordinating the repairs.

While there’s technically no limit to the dollar amount you can borrow for a home addition, the standard limit is around 80% of the value the addition is expected to add to your home. That means you could feasibly borrow up to $80,000 if an appraiser determines that the addition or bump out will add $100,000 in value to your property. You might also be limited by your debt-to-income ratio or credit score.

While there's not a lot of definite research, some experts suggest that an in-ground or wall-mounted basketball hoop can add value to your home by increasing curb appeal.
