"Owen and Max were amazing! They were on time, super sweet, and helped me move up 4 flights of stairs. They really were the best. Will be hiring again for my next move!"

"Jayrod and Dominic were professional and great efficient workers. They introduced themselves and made sure they understood our needs, going over all the pieces that needed to be moved room by room and carefully completed the task. I am using them again to move more furniture this week."

"The two movers, Jamal and Michael, were pleasant, respectful and very careful with Mom's belongings, such as her treasured Grandfather clock.  They accomplished the load-out in under 3 hours and had everything unloaded, the bed put together and all the major furniture pieces in place in the new place within a 6 hour timeframe.  It's the first move I've experienced where everything went according to plan, nothing was lost or damaged, and we would definitely recommend Best Moving Service to all my friends!

"Everything went just as stated when I agreed to this move. On time, quick and careful. Both movers were professional and friendly. Placed piano in exact location I wanted at destination. All for a quite reasonable cost, nearly half of another quote I got."

"Everything went find. I wanted everything done within 4 hours and they were finished 15 minutes early. The movers had to move furniture from a one room in Perris. Then they had to go to my storage in Corona get the majority of my things and then move that stuff to my permanent location in Chino. The move happen on one of the hotest day of the year. I moved to a one bedroom apartment. The last time I moved it took about 6 hours and they were professional movers. I was on a strick budget and because they finished on time I didn't go over my budget for moving. The drivers were professional and nice and I would use them again"

Moving questions, answered by experts

The ideal budget for moving out of state largely depends on your location, the number of rooms you need to move, and how far your final destination is. On average, homeowners spend a little over $1,700 on their move.

A DIY move is cheaper than paying movers. However, hiring professional movers can save you time and stress.

The best bet for most large items is a four-wheel dolly, but it depends on the size and shape of the couch. This tool provides extra stability for heavy loads and enhances maneuverability, which is useful when squeezing through a narrow doorway. Additionally, four-wheel designs reduce the effort required to move the dolly, which minimizes the number of required helpers.

Deciding whether it's worth it to hire movers depends on your budget, patience, and physical capabilities. It's difficult to gauge the amount of work that moving calls for, and it's easy to be off by about tenfold.

If you're able to call in some favors and round up friends to help, you might get through it just fine, but if you only have a few hands helping, things can quickly get overwhelming. Either way, bringing in the pros will save considerable time and stress, so if it's within your budget, it's a great investment.

When planning an out-of-state move, you should aim to save enough money to cover at least two to three months of living expenses, including rent, food, utilities, and transportation. Ideally, saving for six months or more is best, especially if you don't have a job lined up. You also need to budget for the transition costs, such as a moving vehicle rental, hiring movers, and packing materials. Cross-country moves typically cost between $2,400 and $6,860. You can calculate your estimated moving costs in advance based on factors like distance, weight, and the number of bedrooms.
