I have dozens of large live oaks & Monterey pines on my property some 60 feet tall. Joel helped me maintain a fire safe cleared area all around my home removing huge branches & limbs from trees that had to be climbed & cabled for safety. These are tree professionals. Cutting down a tree next to power lines is never a DIY job, and it’s a good idea to contact your utility company first. Tree topping is a frowned-upon method that involves removing and cutting most or the entirety of the top of the tree, including structurally important branches.

If you aren’t sure what you’re doing, be very careful when cutting mature tree roots (roots larger than 2 inches). Root cutting and pruning can affect both a tree’s stability and its ability to nourish itself. Issues during root cutting can result in damage or injury.
