"What is there to say about Hender? Professional. Knowledgeable. Hard working. Personable. Explains everything he is going to do before beginning. I had two other services give me quotes on this job - my auto sprinklers had stopped watering my back yard - both did nothing more than look at my unit and declare I needed a new one. Quoting prices $250 and $280. Lastly came Hender a Godsend. He looked at my unit, the sprinkle valves and wiring. He determined I did not need a new unit. He changed the connection on the valves. Corrected a cut wire which connected the timer to the backyard valves and found the only thing wrong with my timer was needing a new fuse. Completed the work right there and then at a fraction of the cost quoted by others. I will definitely hire him again. I would refer him to others without hesitation. Hender is the best ever!!"

"I hired Marc to remove solar panels so roofing contractor can do work on my roof. A few days later when roofers were done, Marc came back to install them again. He was fast and made the work nice. He was very respectful and worked with my busy schedule. I recommend Marc to any friends that need anything electrical done."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a dremel tool to cut plexiglass. Follow the instructions under “How to Cut Plexiglass with a Saw,” and use a dremel tool with a 561 bit instead of a saw.

Most contractors do not charge for meetings, but it can depend on the project, mainly if it includes detailed consultations or project planning. For general estimates, homeowners shouldn't expect to be charged. Always ask up front about meeting fees to avoid surprises and ensure you know what’s included in the process.

Tipping contractors, builders, or general contractors is not customary or expected. Unlike many service professions where tipping is built into the payment structure, construction professionals typically charge a full rate for their services. However, you may choose to tip a worker for exceptional service, such as if they go above and beyond, stay late to meet a deadline, or work on a holiday weekend. Before offering a tip, it's a good idea to ask about the company's policy, as some prohibit their employees from accepting gratuities. If you want to show your appreciation for a job well done without giving a cash tip, consider writing a positive online review or offering to serve as a reference for potential new customers.

A handyperson is the professional term used to describe professional fixers who can tackle a wide range of general home repairs. Some pros may prefer to use the term handyworker, handyman, or handywoman, so we recommend politely asking your pro how they would like you to identify them during the project.

If a contractor is in breach of your contract, sometimes it is possible to collect damages for unreasonable delays. However, such claims can be expensive and difficult to prove. If there’s a way to complete the work and maybe negotiate for a discount for some of the inconvenience, that might be a simpler and cheaper way to resolve any disputes.
