"5 stars isn’t enough! If you want a tree removal done right, we give our highest recommendation to Silva’s Tree Service. Silva’s removed a large fallen portion of a pepper tree for us after a recent heavy winter storm. The estimate was free, they arrived early, and were professional and respectful of our home. The pepper tree had literally broken in half and the fallen part was covering other trees, shrubs, and potted plants. What we thought would take hours to clear, was completely removed and hauled off in less than 45-minutes! The crew left the area raked clean and it looked as if nothing had ever happened. Amazing response, stellar work, and awesome customer service. We will call them for future work at our home and refer them, for sure!"

"I would not recommend Castaneda's Tree Trimming. In the past they have done a great job, but this time they ruined our palm tree, see photo of palm tree on left top 1/4 was skinned. We have video of the tree trimmer not doing a professional job, being lazy and creating disfiguration. When I spoke to Pedro he was not willing to correct the issue or refund us our $$. So sad..."

You should prune ornamental trees once every other year after the fruit has matured and begun to drop. You should also prune out dead branches whenever you see them. Pruning too often can stimulate more growth, especially in faster growing varieties like Bradford pears.

Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. Bradford pear trees bloom in early spring with small white flowers. They typically flower for at least two weeks. In bloom, these trees often emit a foul-smelling odor that’s often compared to rotting fish. Bradford pear trees will sometimes bloom in the fall due to drought or other stress-inducing conditions. 

If it’s only a smaller branch that has died and you’re keeping an eye on the tree, it’s probably nothing to worry about. But if other nearby branches start dying off as well, or a very large branch dies, then you likely have a bigger problem. It’s time to watch for diseases and other problems and possibly get professional guidance on how to proceed.
