"I usually call the same big, overpriced plumbing company everyone does because of name recognition. This time I gave Angel at Clever Plumbing a shot after he responded to my Angi listing, and he far exceeded my expectations. Angel was courteous, patient when I had to reschedule, and showed up early and prepared. He replaced a failing kitchen faucet with a new Delta. He also tightened a loose bathroom faucet I had planned to replace, telling me it still had life in it and saving me the money this time around. He even removed an old glass shower door embedded in a vintage tile stall, the same day as his initial assessment. He sealed all the screw holes so it looks as good as it can and hauled the door away. I'd been trying to get that door removed for years! His rates were reasonable for the work performed, and it felt good not to get bilked by another exorbitant plumbing invoice. "In and out plumbing is great!  Easy to make an appointment... called at 9pm and scheduled service for the following day.  Plumber Mike was on-time and polite.  After showing him our leaky shower faucet, he provided two quotes- one to replace parts, the second to upgrade the plumbing to today's standards (1955 house).  After a few minutes we opted for the former.  Unfortunately there was a bolt that seemed to be glued in and so the handle stems had to be cutt off (also explains why my husband couldn't unsrew it the evening before).  The replacement were of an old design therefore Mike warned us that it may be difficult to find at a store.  He spend 45 minutes looking for it that day and upon not finding it at open stores, returned at 9am sharp the following morning to pick up the broken part (which he had replaced the night before so that the water could be turned back on for us) and spent about 60 minutes away while at another store.  Luckily he was able to find the part and had the faucet fixed by 11am.  During the entire work Mike was kind, communicative and obviously working hard to successfully complete the job.

Additionally, another plumber, Steve from In and Out Plumbing provided service just a few days prior for another problem... a corroded pipe with a hole was leaking water from our kitchen drain.  Steve was also very polite, communicative about our options for the repair, and was able to replace 2 feet of piping in about 30 minutes. 

In and Out Plumbing has been great on two occasions!  We will definitely use them again if we have any more plumbing issues."

"I don't usually post, particularly pics of my home. But... We are so happy, I had to share so that others could benefit from our experience. 13 working days to completely remove/replace kitchen (never been remodeled since 1979!), install recessed lighting in raised ceiling, and repaint ceiling & walls of the formal living room!!! An impossible timeline that they were more than willing to accommodate at the lowest bid price. Couple of times, working 12hour days. Believe me, we never expected them to labor so hard and we were skeptical dealing with other contractors that always go double the promised timelines. They helped patch walls for free where we had plumbing work done by our plumber. Not only are these guys professional, but they are neat, organized, and always clean up after themselves. They walked us through tile/material selections in the beginning. And they even moved our furniture for us during the process. Coming up with solutions to questions before you think to ask them. Can't say enough."

"Ovation manages client contracts and finances while Unique Interiors (Kris Tavares) crews do the work. Overall, the construction was of average quality, and am I generally satisfied with the results. Most workers were timely, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. However, there were a number of issues of missed timelines, demands for early payments (although the total paid was as agreed). Several of the subs or workers were problematic and callbacks from both Ovation and Unique were difficult. His work was often installed where other work was planned. As a result, his work needed redoing. Because he was rarely quickly available to fix his mistakes, these erred installations significantly increased the project duration. He rarely cleaned up after himself, leaving scraps, and construction debris left where he worked requiring other workers or the homeowner to clean-up. His worst mistake was drilling a 3 ½ in a hole in an array of standard 2X4s to accommodate a 2 in conduit to pass through. The result was that the involved wall required reconfiguring to ensure structural soundness. This event was complicated by his using brute force to remove a frozen stud in an electrical meter base, which then broke off. Instead of drilling out the broken stud, he ordered a new service, which necessitated a two-week period with no electricity to the house. Not only did this delay the project, if necessitated people living here to vacate during this time and required use of an extension cord from a neighbor to keep the refrigerator and freezer running. This alone was cause for a 3-week delay in the overall project. A number of other delays were the result of materials not ordered in a timely manner so that when workmen were assigned, instead of beginning work on the ordered materials, they had to go find what was needed at the store. In some cases, this required ordering materials that were back-ordered, adding to the delays. It must be said that this small project was originally projected to have an elapsed completion time of 1 month. In all, the project took over 4 months with many interim completion dates given and passed. These delays were complicated by two international trips the owners took, one of which I hired a person to oversee construction in my absence, the second because of problems in my first absence, I halted construction for 3.5 weeks while I was gone. The person hired to install cabinets, which were very nice quality, were hung in a very unprofessional manner with screw heads exposed inside the cabinets and many of these proud of the cabinet wall, which prevented me from using screw covers. About cabinet designs: I was presented a cabinet plan and pressured to approve it. We discussed the plan and made some agreements of the changes needed and I signed off. Unfortunately, all the changes we discussed were not followed and some original designs were ordered. This was my error for signing off to a plan without better documentation of the oral changes.Part of the plan was the installation of a shallow counter that needed custom fabrication. The finish material had to be repaired and this did not work so it was agreed to replace the counter as warranty work after the project was completed. The person who built this also undertook the redo. The final quality of the work was very poor. The counter was somewhere from ¼ to 1/8 inch away from the wall. He attempted to fill the gap with silicone and smeared it on both the wall and the counter. He left the redo in this condition without letting the owner know he was going. I reported this issue to both Ovation and Unique, without any response. I had to make the repair on the counter myself."

"I was told the project would take 3 weeks max. It is taking more than twice that. It started at the end of October, and I still do not have a functioning bathroom as of the 2nd of December. A lot of the problem started because I ordered a bathtub that was too large. However, it was within the dimensions given to me by the contractors. Getting a new bathtub. Now it seems work is being done sporadically. The Tile floor was semi installed on Sunday, the main tiles were cemented down, but not the edging. And since then, I have not seen anyone. It is Wednesday. They installed the wiring for the light fixtures in the wrong place. I had to do the calculations to figure out where they were supposed to go, not my job, and it still has not been corrected."
