"Jerry Gasper is easy to work with. He was extremely flexible while I planned the project. When I was finally ready it only took a couple of weeks to schedule the work. The crew showed up before the scheduled time and started to work immediately. They were very professional. It was a pleasant experience having them on the job. A great plus was that they cleaned up the area after finishing the work. I will consider Gasper Electric for any future work."

"This is the second time that I have had Arcflash Electric come out to work on my 5 year old solar system and both time he did a great job. In both cases separate parts of the system malfunctioned while still under warranty. Tony helped me collect the information and submit the claim forms that the two companies required. The rheostat company sent me a new replacement at no charge. The panel company said that they no longer made the panels that I had and they didn’t have any replacement panels in stock. They sent me a check for 38% of a new panel and wished me luck in finding replacement panels. Tony contacted several different suppliers and was able to finally locate replacement panels. Since Tony completed the repairs the system is operating more effectively and is now producing enough energy that the system can power my home, charge my two backup batteries and sell energy back to PG&E. I highly recommend using Arcflash Electric for any electrical work you may need done."

"Josue Salgado, of R and S Electric and Builders; came out on February 13th. When he saw what was the issue he informed me he never done a project like this before but he wanted to try. He worked on a water leak I had. At the end of his completing the job, the leak was at minimal. Josue, told me it was residual water. I paid Josue a check #1635, in the amount of $550.00. I came out the next morning, the leak was back. I called Josue, informing him, I still had a water leak. Josue, returned on February 26th. I told him, I was still noticing leaking. He told me that was just drips from excess water, as there appeared to be a slower drip. I paid him an extra $60 in cash. On 27th; the leak was back in full stream. Josue had gone for the day. I called a friend that i know from a company and when i told them what was going on he said it was the part that was causing leak that causing water to flow out in excess. We have the part here and I just come over and put it in for her and he came over and put it in and the leak stopped as soon as possible."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Common warning signs of an overloaded electrical panel or meter box include frequent circuit breaker tripping, flickering or dimming lights, scorch or burn marks, and a burning scent coming from the panel. A circuit breaker trips as a protective measure to prevent overheating and potential fires. If you observe any of these signs, turn off the affected circuit breaker and move some devices to a different circuit. If the problem persists after turning the breaker back on, you should contact a professional electrician to resolve the issue.

Outdoor outlets should be at least 15-amp, but preferably 20-amp. The exact rating will depend on the electrical load of the devices that will be plugged into the outlet and the capacity of the circuit. It's important not to overload the circuit, which can cause safety hazards such as tripped breakers or electrical fires. In general, a circuit rated for at least 20 amps is recommended for outdoor outlets, while each outlet should be rated for at least 15 amps.

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep. If using an underground feeder cable rated for direct burial, you'll need to place it at least 18 inches deep, as it has no conduit for extra protection.

An AC disconnect, also known as a switch box or fuse box, is a safety switch that allows the AC’s electrical supply to be turned off from the outside, usually done by a mechanical contractor coming to work on your unit. The box is protected from the weather by a cover or may be designed as a pull-out unit. Your local code determines where the AC disconnect must be mounted, but it's usually close to your outdoor AC unit.

There are several things to try to repair a broken outlet. Whether it's fixable or not may depend on the problem and the type of outlet itself. Start by testing the circuit with an electrical tester and ensuring the breaker switch to the circuit functions as it should. Loose wires are sometimes the culprit and are repairable by fixing the connections.
