"Great guy! Very professional! We’ve used him twice and he will be our “go to” person the next time we have a pool problem. He is very knowledgeable in more areas than just pools as well. It turned out this time, that it wasn’t a problem with our pool, but our water well. He came to our house, and figured it our problem within 5 minutes. I definitely recommend Eric."

Customers say: Quick response

"Eli takes his pool cleaning business very seriously in my opinion. Being a swimming pool owner for about 37 years and several pool cleaning companies, I have been most impressed with Eli. Our pool alway looks clean and water is always in balance. People have commented how clear our water is year around. I can count on him every Thursday to service our pool. Sheridan B Modesto, Ca."

"Torrey is very good at what he does. He is very knowledgeable and professional. II appreciated his honesty and his patience while I asked a lot of questions. He explained the problem well and then went over all repair/replace options with me . He was kind to my dogs......a big plus! I have used Burketts and Leslies Pool guys in the past, but I will continue my service with Torrey and Atlas Pools."

"I originally made contact with Andrew, the owner, asking if he could maintain the pool at my parents house as they are getting older and cannot maintain it on their own. Andrew and his company stepped up in my time of need after a few other companies would not return my calls. Although the area where my parents live is a little bit out in the country from where their main customers in the city are located, Andrew said that he would make it work. True to his word, his company has been taking care of the pool for the last 3 months or so. My parents have been extremely happy with the service and I am extremely grateful for the work that Andrew and his team have provided."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Hot tub repairs cost between $200 and $500 on average. You can minimize those costs by maintaining your hot tub and keeping necessary supplies on hand. An elevated shelf in the garage is a great place to store your water care chemicals so that kids and pets will stay safe and you’ll always have them around.

Your hot tub should be drained of existing water, cleaned, and refilled every three to four months at a minimum. Follow your tub manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning, and rinse thoroughly when finished to eliminate any residue from the cleaning products. This is also a good time to inspect your tub’s cover in good lighting for any leaks, tears, or other damage that might cause problems.

Using your hot tub manufacturer’s suggested cleaners and methods, keep your hot tub filters clean to avoid a loss of water heat. This will help extend the filter’s useful life and efficiency. If the filter is more than two to three years old, replace it with a new one and buy a second filter to keep around as a spare.

If water is left inside the hot tub pump over a cold winter, it could freeze and severely damage the pump, water lines, and jets. That can cause leaks, which require very expensive repairs. Freezing or leftover water can stain and damage the hot tub shell, which leads to replacement. Even in mild climates, leaving sitting water in the tub or pipes for a long period of unuse is a bad idea, since disinfecting chemicals fade and the water can develop bacteria, algae, and other big headaches when it’s time to use the tub again.

No. In fact, some owners prefer to “summerize” their hot tubs and use them primarily over winter to enjoy the contrast of cold and hot water. It’s possible to keep the tub filled and running year-round, and some pros may even recommend this method compared to the work and risks of a full winterization every year.

However, keeping the hot tub running will require additional resources. You’ll use more power and more chemicals to keep it in good shape. Weigh the pros and cons of your situation before making a decision.

If your hot tub is well-maintained, covered tightly, and the water is balanced and sanitized correctly, it can remain unused for up to two weeks without significant issues. Beyond this period, the water quality may start to deteriorate, potentially leading to the growth of algae and bacteria. However, it's crucial to note that this timeline can change due to factors like water temperature, sanitation levels, and the quality of your hot tub cover. Regular maintenance and water testing are essential to ensure the water remains safe and clean during periods of inactivity.

Using bubble bath, bath oils, bath salts, or moisturizing products that contain butters or oils can damage your jetted tub. Because of the water pump and jet mechanism, you need to be more selective with products for a jetted tub than you would for a traditional bathtub in order to keep it functioning properly and avoid expensive repairs. These products also leave residue that can feed mildew and mold, so it’s best to avoid them.
