"In late June, 2018, we hired Eric to do an inspection on our pool pump and also to put in two LED light systems where our regular lights USED to be!!! I had read, from previous people's reviews that Eric was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about pools and we DEFINITELY found that to be the case!!! Not ONLY did he seem to know EVERYTHING about pools, he explained EVERYTHING to us on how it worked, as well!!! We also found him to be honest, friendly, polite and EXTREMELY easy to work with!!! "I purchased my home a few years ago. The home had an existing pool with a leak and required some cosmetic work. Pablo and his team assisted in locating the leak and repaired it. Once the leak issue was resolved I decided to give the pool a different look. Pablo and team returned and did a phenomenal job. He built a beautiful retaining wall with two waterfalls, LED lights and a pool side fire pit. It could be happier for the type of service I received. The pool looks great and the water looks amazing. Most hot tubs will experience leaks due to wear and tear in the plumbing or the shell itself. The second most common issue is a heater malfunction due to the ongoing heat stress on moving parts. Finally, clogs happen in hot tub jets, especially when it’s time to change the filter.

For a fully-foamed hot tub, freezing typically occurs when the temperature drops below 28 degrees Fahrenheit and remains at or below this level continuously for a minimum of 36 hours. If your hot tub and pumps are still operational, however, the water circulates, and this continuous movement helps prevent freezing, even in very cold conditions. This circulation, along with the insulation provided by the foam, helps maintain the water temperature and prevent it from freezing during extended cold periods. Still, if you’re not planning to run it regularly, be sure to winterize the hot tub properly to prevent damage from freezing.

You can drain a hot tub very quickly by using a submersible pump rather than the hose-sized drain at the bottom exterior of the tub. A pump can move up to 30 gallons per minute, draining your hot tub in no time. Using the regular drain can take up to two hours.

Hot tub repairs cost between $200 and $500 on average. You can minimize those costs by maintaining your hot tub and keeping necessary supplies on hand. An elevated shelf in the garage is a great place to store your water care chemicals so that kids and pets will stay safe and you’ll always have them around. 

Your hot tub should be drained of existing water, cleaned, and refilled every three to four months at a minimum. Follow your tub manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning, and rinse thoroughly when finished to eliminate any residue from the cleaning products. This is also a good time to inspect your tub’s cover in good lighting for any leaks, tears, or other damage that might cause problems. 

Using your hot tub manufacturer’s suggested cleaners and methods, keep your hot tub filters clean to avoid a loss of water heat. This will help extend the filter’s useful life and efficiency. If the filter is more than two to three years old, replace it with a new one and buy a second filter to keep around as a spare.
