"Great guy! Very professional! We’ve used him twice and he will be our “go to” person the next time we have a pool problem. He is very knowledgeable in more areas than just pools as well. It turned out this time, that it wasn’t a problem with our pool, but our water well. He came to our house, and figured it our problem within 5 minutes. I definitely recommend Eric."

"Torrey, is SIMPLY. AMAZING. I will save you time if you are searching for a pool repair person. Look no further. Torrey with Atlas Pool is your guy. He takes pride in his work and reputation. You will be so happy you went with him over the other guy's. I am very particular in who I so business with. He came HIGHLY RECOMMEND by my pool cleaner who could not repair my older pool pump. Torrey got the job done and I was extremely satisfied with his price and work ethics. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM & WOULD USE HIM AGAIN."

"Pam does an excellent work. We hired her for monthly pool service after having bad experiences with really poor pool service companies here in the central valley -- Pam came out immediately and the pool never looked so clean right after her first pool service visit. From there on she's been excellent. I recommend her 100%!!!"

"I purchased my home a few years ago. The home had an existing pool with a leak and required some cosmetic work. Pablo and his team assisted in locating the leak and repaired it. Once the leak issue was resolved I decided to give the pool a different look. Pablo and team returned and did a phenomenal job. He built a beautiful retaining wall with two waterfalls, LED lights and a pool side fire pit. It could be happier for the type of service I received. The pool looks great and the water looks amazing. Thank you South Bay Pools."

Pool and Spa Servicing FAQs, answered by experts

The cost to repair a hot tub or spa ranges from about $170 to $550, depending on the repairs needed. Some of the most common hot tub repairs include leaks, clogged filters, and tripped GFCI breakers. If it’s an electrical problem, you should contact a professional hot tub repair service. Don’t DIY electrical repairs on a hot tub, as poorly repaired wiring can make the hot tub a serious electrocution hazard.

Most hot tubs will experience leaks due to wear and tear in the plumbing or the shell itself. The second most common issue is a heater malfunction due to the ongoing heat stress on moving parts. Finally, clogs happen in hot tub jets, especially when it’s time to change the filter.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.

You can and should use a hose to fill a hot tub. There shouldn’t be anything special about the hose other than it shouldn’t be damaged. Kinks or leaks could slow down the filling process. Attach the hose to the nearest spigot and get the water flowing.

Yes, hot tubs can use a significant amount of electricity, primarily to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub uses between 1,500 and 6,000 watts, and the pump can add another 1,500 watts. This usage can result in a monthly cost of around $20 to $30. The exact amount of electricity consumed depends on several factors, including the hot tub's age, size, heater voltage (120V vs. 240V), usage habits, and thermostat setting. Newer, energy-efficient models generally use less power than older ones. To reduce electricity costs, consider investing in an energy-efficient model, using a quality insulated cover with a thermal blanket, and keeping the filters clean.
