"After checking on Angi, I received a few names for tree trimming companies in our area. Gold Country, Tree Inc called me within 20 minutes. We agreed upon a date and time for an estimate of the job that I needed to have done. We have a very large tree in the confines of a mobile home park. The branches hung over common areas along with other homes. Not only was Scott Arnold interested in the job, he gave me a very fair estimate, so we hired him and we are glad we did! Scott and his crew are professional and happy, hardworking people. They did everything they promised including completely cleaning and removing every bit of debris from the tree from all areas. We highly recommend Gold Country Tree, Inc."

"We have used a few different companies for tree and brush removal and no one worked as hard as Israelâ s crew. The pricing is fair, the crews were respectful and they exceeded my expectations!"

"His price is competitive with "All" the licenses you need for someone to be on your property. My renters were very happy with his communication during the job and their yards were cleaner when done then before he started. No problem bringing him back for more work later..."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.

A pro can guide you on the alternatives to tree topping depending on the specific issues within your trees. For example, if you’re dealing with breakage and cracks in your tree, they may suggest canopy reduction, which removes less than 25% of the tree’s limbs. If you’re dealing with lesser damage, some intentional pruning may be all you need. If you’re looking to get a clearer view through your tree, the pro may also try windowing or skirting your tree.

You can start your search for a reputable arborist online by looking for professionals who hold the proper licensing and are fully insured. Next, read through some online reviews to see what kind of service the expert brings to the table, and confirm that they don’t have a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Finally, you can ask the professional for a list of references and then call them to ask questions about the service, professionalism, value, and more that the expert brings to the table.
