"Great job. Very quick response time and cleaned my yard well. The only complaint is some leaves/debris left behind, but I think that may be a result of the dampness of the yard. Would definitely hire again!"

"quoted me $500 to prune 8 cypress trees a pomegranate tree and a mock orange. cancelled first appt due to equipment failure. texted him twice to confirm new appt. no answer. had to call. He sincerely apologized. they did the work, did fine with the trees, then I asked them to blow the leaves out of the front yard, paid them an extra $40. Not such a good job for $40. asked for an estimate for the back yard - waaayyy too much. i don't understand why people think they can charge $600 to prune 2 vines and blow out the yard. Business as usual is not the way to do business anymore. Sure, maybe some people have $600 lying around, but most of us don't. Carlos was very respectful, however, which does go a ways. I would hire him again to prune trees only."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired him to do a large yard (about 1/3 acre) cleanup and removal of all debris, some trimming of bushes. Great work, started early, finished early, professional, and thorough. Will hire him in the future for other projects. Able to do more than yard work."

"Javier and his brother helped us fully replace sprinkler valves, our sprinkler controller and a bunch of leaks in hoses around the yard. I had a great experience from first contact to final inspection. Javier was very thorough, worked quickly and went above and beyond the scope of work to make sure everything works well. I'll definitely will be working with him on future projects!"

"I was very impressed with their quality of work and the fact that they were able to work the same day that I requested them too. They went above and beyond by working on an area that I didnâ t even ask them to work on, and I was very happy with them overall. I would recommend Them highly to anybody looking for a gardener. I am very pleased with the work they did on my garden."

Lawns questions, answered by experts

It may not be worth it to rake every leaf in your yard, but it’s necessary to remove the majority of leaves to prevent them from smothering grass growth on your lawn. However, raking leaves isn’t your only option for leaf removal. You can remove leaves easily with a leaf blower or compost or mulch them with your lawn mower to repurpose them to help grow your garden or yard.

If you have a lot of trees around your home, mulching all those leaves can smother the lawn. Air and light won't reach the grass and soil if too many leaves have been mulched. Turf grass and other lawn problems can arise if the weather is too wet and excessive leaves have been mulched.

Unless it’s rubber or you need to prune suckers and remove weeds, you shouldn’t need to get rid of the old mulch around your tree. Simply push old mulch a few inches away from the trunk of your tree and then top it off with enough fresh mulch to reach 3 to 4 inches in height.

In general, you can prune up to one third of the height of most shrubs without damaging them. There are a few exceptions to this rule: Pine shrubs, for example, can’t be trimmed below the point of new growth without damaging them.

If possible, you should prioritize pulling weeds up by hand. However, be sure not to use your bare hands, as many weeds are sharp or otherwise irritating when they come in contact with skin. Always don thick, protective gardening gloves to protect your hands when you pull up weeds.
