"David and his team were OUTSTANDING. We had 65 foot stucco wall that needed to be cleaned, patched and completely restucco'd. David worked our job in between others, brought two professionals with him and finished our job in 6 hours. David was extremely professional, great customer service, and amazing attention to detail. The quality of his work was OUTSTANDING and our wall looks brand new. I would recommend David Negrete Jr. Plastering for any stucco job."

"Larry and his crew did a great job performing the asbestos abatement work that was required in my condo building.  They were professional, clean, and a pleasure to work with.  Larry did a great job explaining the work and was very patent with some of the residents' concerns.  I hope to never need any future asbestos work, but if I do, All Clear will be the first I call.

"We couldn't be any happier nor recommend him more strongly. Victor is an outstanding handyman/ contractor- He is straightforward, honest, reliable and very responsible. He will get the job done. He is thorough and detail-oriented- If you give him a job, he will carry it out through to the end. He will be clear about the cost, and he charges a fair price for the excellence work he delivers. Victor is very knowledgeable, we have worked with him for different projects involving plumbing, electrical, wood (doors) and an entire kitchen remodel. We are very happy with his work and we think his reliability and responsibility are priceless. He is also a very pleasant and reasonable person to deal with, respectful and careful given the times of Covid. We could not recommend him more. We will hire him to remodel our bathroom as soon as covid and his busy schedule allows..."

"The owner, Tamir (Tommy) was very responsive and came out in person to assess mold damage  on July 18, 2014.  I signed the mold remediation contract on July 21.  Prior to beginning the mold remediation work, an asbestos assessment was required due to the age of the property.  I found and paid for an independent asbestos assessment which showed asbestos positive on July 23.  On July 29 I signed an asbestos abatement addendum proposal and abatement was completed on August 4, followed by mold remediation on August 6.   Mold post-remediation testing only was required and completed by an independent company and paid by me. Mold/asbestos remediation was signed off by me on August 21. Although the entire process took about a month to complete the work was done efficiently and effectively as evidenced by the post-remediation report..  The office staff was very professional and kept me apprised of worker arrival dates/times and the owner was personally involved to assure everything was completed safely and correctly.  I would definitely recommend this company for mold/asbestos remediation.

"All tasks performed quickly and professionally. In addition, Marco purchased at his own expense a doorknob, provided extra caulking, matched the paint for the drywall patch, and repaired a stair nosing without being asked. We have other household repairs and feel confident in using Marco."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Properly installed and maintained stucco can last 50 to 100 years, making it one of the longest-lasting siding materials available. This durable material is known for its durability, and as long as you clean and waterproof it regularly and promptly repair any damage, it’ll protect your home for decades to come.

The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.

Stucco applied over brick can last 30 to 50 years or more when correctly applied and properly maintained. Stucco’s lifespan can be shortened by improper application, incorrectly mixed material, lack of preparation before application, and lack of maintenance. To get the most life out of your stucco siding, keep up with maintenance and repair any damage as soon as you discover it.

Stucco is very challenging to DIY, so it’s always best to leave the work to professional stucco contractors. The same recommendation applies to painting a stucco house, which should be left in the reliable hands of a professional exterior painter. Inexperienced DIYers can make several critical mistakes during stucco application, such as:

  • Failing to apply sufficiently thick layers for longevity and water resistance

  • Uneven application

  • Uneven texture across the exterior

  • Mixing the stucco improperly, leaving a weak structure

  • Failing to texture properly in between coats, leading to cracking and chipping

Quikrete will set without mixing. The process of pouring dry concrete into your concrete form and then adding water is called dry pouring. While this method makes pouring concrete simpler and easier, it reduces its strength and durability. It can be a viable option for small, decorative concrete pavers for walkways or for setting fence posts, but it’s not ideal for pouring slabs that will bear any significant amount of weight.
