It looked like it was an easy fix, but it was not an good time for us to fix it ourselves plus we had several other non-emergency plumbing issues to take care of. So we shut the valve and waited until morning to call a plumber. Ray came right on schedule, three hours after I called and replaced the hot water heater hose, fixed a phantom flusher, and replaced two tub faucets that "leak" water profusely when we want all the water to come out of the shower head. When turning off the water to the toilet, the old shut off valve broke. Ray quickly cleaned up the water,  then installed a new valve, hose, and parts inside the tank."
