"He was the only person who proposed fixing the fence instead of replacing the whole sections. They were able to rebuild it almost entirely with the existing redwood and adding a few boards. Blends in nicely with the rest of the fence. Way cheaper than replacing the whole sections."

"Very prompt, thorough, and skilled workmanship. They built raised beds, replaced old arbor, and fence, renewed some large planters, upgraded my drip irrigation and many small projects. Ruben is very pleasant and easy to work with, I highly recommend him. Previously I had him lay a beautiful tile patio in my backyard."

"I was looking for a landscape contractor to make some improvements. A friend had mentioned their satisfaction with New Earth so I visited the website and was impressed by the diversity of projects they display. I wanted someone reputable and affordable and the fact that New Earth is licensed, bonded, insured and provides Workerâ s Compensation coverage impressed me. Pablo, the estimator, came to my home and gave me a reasonable price. They installed a paver stone patio that accorded exactly with what I wanted. They also built a stout new redwood stockade fence to enclose my backyard. And they installed a concrete walk/stairway that is adapted very nicely to the terrain. The project was done quickly and to my complete satisfaction and in the price range quoted to me. Iâ m already planning new projects with New Earth and recommend them highly to friends!"

"Juan and his team at Green Bay were terrific! We wanted to have some old hedges removed and replace with some new trees and bushes. We wanted some new landscaping in our small front yard. We reached out to Juan, and he responded right away. We set up a date/time for a consultation and Juan was available and prompt and had great energy, listened to what we wanted and provided great ideas. Then we picked a date and he and his team worked on a Sunday and got it all done. There were efficient, knowledgeable, talented, neat, and friendly. They had a truck with all the equipment, they bought all the trees and plants and they removed all trash and debris and left our front yard looking lovely. We could not have been happier with how our new fence, mulch, Cyprus trees, Japanese Maple and Bougainvillea front yard turned out. And they also set up the irrigation for the future watering The experience was very positive, and we think our front yard is so elevated."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

DIY is feasible with the proper tools and manual labor, though experienced installers ensure durability and precise alignment.

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

Regular lawn care keeps snakes away because it eliminates common hiding places. You can deter snakes by trimming grass, shrubs, and trees and removing weeds from your lawn and gardens. Clear away leaves and other debris that could serve as a potential snake habitat. You can also seal entry points around building perimeters and install metal snake fencing.

When deciding between fence post foam and concrete, the best choice depends on your specific needs and priorities. Concrete is generally considered stronger and more durable, making it the preferred option for heavy, load-bearing posts. However, expanding foam offers several advantages, such as being more eco-friendly and curing much faster. For smaller fences or those made with lighter materials like vinyl or wire mesh, post foam is a good alternative. While concrete is more affordable, it is also harder to work with and has a longer curing time.

There’s no definitive answer to this question because dog owners and experts are conflicted about the efficacy and morality of electric fences. However, physical fences are typically considered a better option since they provide guaranteed containment for your pup, provided they are tall enough, and your dog can’t dig under them. Physical fences can also provide privacy, which might stop your dog from barking at people or animals walking by. Physical dog fences tend to be more expensive, but most homeowners find them to be a better option overall.
