"Professional, efficient, knowledgeable, trimmed a large sycamore tree in the front yard, cleaned up and left no trace that they were here! The tree is now beautiful, nicely shaped and not resting on the roof of the house any longer. Great service, would definitely hire again !"

"It was a big job, the trees were probably over 30 ft tall and horribly overgrown and intertwined. They did a wonderful job and cleaned everything and replaced my statues leaving my yard emasculate. The price was what I expected and worth it. Very nice people, I will be calling them again for some more work next spring."

"Juan arrived for an estimate within 2 hours of first contact with Angi. He was polite, his estimate was very reasonable and said he could send a crew the next day. The crew arrived on time: Marco the foreman and five men. They were efficient, demonstrating experience and knowledge. They completely removed one tree and trimmed two others. The cleanup was thorough, including shredding all the debris into their truck at the curb. The entire job was completed within an hour. I would not hesitate to call Juan again for any landscaping or tree work."

"I had a massive Canary palm tree that needed to be removed. Eduardo promptly responded to my request for an estimate and gave me a fair and reasonable quote. The next day, he arrived on time with a professional and energetic crew. I watched as they made the impossible possible. The tree removal and stump grinding were safely and meticulously done in one day! I was truly amazed. I appreciated how kind, considerate, and conscientious they were - not only to me, but my neighbors as well. I give Heavenly Tree Service my highest recommendation."

"This crew was very professional and respectful of our property. Not a tree limb hit the ground that wasn’t tied off and gently placed where it was suppose to be. Untied and carried out to the shredder. Clean up and replaced moved lawn furniture complete after tree was trimmed. Definatly will hire again!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

State and local laws vary, but in most cases, you are allowed to trim any branches from your neighbor's tree that cross your property line. However, it's important to ensure you do not damage the overall health of the tree in the process. Removing branches incorrectly can jeopardize the health of the tree and could lead to you being on the hook to replace it.

There are several methods to hollow out a tree stump, and the best one depends on your tools, experience, and priorities. Common methods include using a chisel and hammer, a chainsaw, or burning.

  • Chisel and Hammer: This is often considered the easiest approach for those with limited tools or experience, though it is the most time-consuming.

  • Chainsaw: Using a chainsaw is the fastest method, but it comes with significant safety risks, especially for inexperienced users.

  • Burning: This can be an effective method, but it is not recommended unless you can first drill holes into the stump. Without holes, the stump will be difficult to light and may not burn completely through.

A power drill with at least a ⅜-inch diameter bit can make the job quicker and easier, regardless of the primary method. While you can use a chisel or chainsaw without a drill, it will require more time and effort. Always wear protective goggles and thick gloves, as splinters are an inevitable risk.

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. First, their root ball doesn’t need to be as large as a “true” tree, which makes them a bit easier to dig up and move around. Second, they struggle more with taking root and staying upright in a new location, so it’s important to give them extra support when staking.

Any tree that needs to be pruned should be pruned to remove dead branches at least once a year. You may need to prune far more often if you’re trying to maintain a certain shape or to save a tree that suddenly becomes infected.

A tree can split because of high winds, a change in temperature, or from an infestation or tree disease. All of these factors can overlap, making a single cause difficult to pinpoint. While winter storms are some of the most common causes for a tree to split, it can also happen because of termites or rot.
