"My house was in shambles and required a full makeover. We also wanted to add a shower to the downstairs bathroom for my mom as she gets older and stairs are getting tougher. I got 6 estimates and most came back much higher than the one I received from US Home developers and their definitions of work to be provided was also very vague, and left a lot of room for additional fees. Belle gave me a very detailed contract outlining everything that would be done. Armando was our contractor and like Belle, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. The work was done very quickly and only took as long as it did because of wait times for material. Belle met with us a few times to shop for material and helped us through the design process which was very helpful because I was stressing out on this aspect. Armando made sure everything was the way I wanted it to be and was very flexible when it came to scheduling. At the end of job he even had all the junk in my backyard, which was a lot, picked up. I was so happy with the work they did downstairs that I decided to rehire them to do the upstairs. They even added roof replacement to the contract for an additional price that was much lower than the 4 other estimates I got. My house went from looking like it was straight out of an episode of Hoarders to looking like it’s straight out of a magazine. Couldn’t be happier!show more

"We recently added a full master suite and a new retaining wall at ground level of our existing home. We interviewed several contractors and decided on Shenon Construction to build our addition. Tom Shenon is the principal owner and licensed general contractor of Shenon Construction. The estimated costs were reasonable and within our budget, and Tom worked with us to keep our costs down without sacrificing quality. More importantly, we felt a connection to Tom Shenon, as he is sincere and honest, but knowledgeable and professional in his approach to our needs. The work is now complete, and we are entirely pleased with the outcome of our new addition. Needless to say, the process of adding nearly 400 square feet to a structure, especially in Southern California, is a very complicated and detailed endeavor. There are many strict building and environmental regulations and permitting requirements set forth by numerous governmental entities, as well as homeowners association requirements that we had to navigate. The difficulty of getting through architectural planning, engineering, and city permitting was compounded during the COVID pandemic, but Tom and his design/architectural/engineering team did an excellent job to design our project and guide us through the processes and procedures necessary to complete the process timely and thoroughly. He is a competent contractor and knowledgeable in his field. He allowed us to select and purchase all owner-supplied fixtures and materials ourselves, or use his design and supplier team to obtain required items at the best prices. We used a mixture of contractor-recommended suppliers as well as obtaining our own selection of items based on our personal preferences. All of the subcontractors, project supervisors, and trade craftsmen were superb. They were courteous and respectful of our property, trustworthy, and extremely skillful in their trades. The craftmanship is amazing and resulted in a beautiful, comfortable addition. All the suppliers and subcontractors used by Shenon Construction went above and beyond to help us obtain needed items at reasonable prices in a timely manner. Based on the results of our project, we feel we definitely made the correct choice in Shenon Construction to complete our addition, and we consider Tom and all the craftsmen involved in our project to be long-term friends. "My wife and I were incredibly impressed and more than satisfied by the work done by A+, and especially our experience with our project manager, Moshe. We were won over quickly by how appreciative they were of the historical details of our house and how committed they were with preserving or recreating them to maintain the character of our home. The project was to renovate our kitchen, turn a small half bathroom and laundry room into a large bathroom, and replace a carpeted floor with bamboo. My wife and I had never gone through a remodel before, but Moshe was an excellent resource and really helped us understand the process and lessen the disruption to our lives as much as possible, particularly by making sure that all major decisions were made before construction started, so we would not have to wait on making decisions or for appliances etc. to be delivered. Once the project started, Moshe came by our house nearly every day and was very available by phone or text if we ever had any questions or concerns. It also gave us the chance to check in with him every day so he could explain what was happening, the timeline of events, and to make sure no details were being missed and that the crew always understood what we were asking for. Working with Moshe was much more of a collaboration than I thought it would be, which was great because my wife and I were often asking for his recommendations when it came to most everything, whether it was choosing a ceiling fan, an appliance, or learning what brands make good cabinet handles. In addition, Moshe could also usually find us discounts on whatever we were buying from vendors he works with. My wife and I were on a pretty rigid schedule with a baby on the way. Moshe always kept our schedule in mind and worked hard to get our project done on time and make sure he was always communicating with us about everything to keep us from getting stressed out if we didn’t know what was going on. Once the actual work on the house began, the whole process only took 4 months, and all of our friends and neighbors are so impressed by it! Moshe was great managing all the workers coming to the house and we always felt very well cared for. Now that our project is over, my wife and I actually miss seeing him every day! We would definitely work with A+ and Moshe for any of our future construction/renovation needs and can’t recommend them highly enough. Their prices may be a little higher than some other contractors, but my wife and I definitely feel like the extra attention, communication, and professionalism we received was well worth it.show more

"As first-time homebuyers, this was also our first renovation work! I made a call to AGA based on a friend's recommendation, and they quickly arranged for one of their project managers to meet me at the house and discuss our ideas. I'm so glad they sent Guy! From our first meeting, I had confidence that AGA could handle our projects (big and small). As the project manager, Guy helped us define the scope the project and was ALWAYS accessible and responsive. Guy was onsite most days and texted me photo updates to keep me informed. The electrician, plumber, tile specialist, paving/hardscaping, and other workers he brought in did an excellent job. They worked quickly and well, and always left the job site tidy. Guy at AGA is a master of managing the schedule--and the client! I really appreciate how well he communicated with me about decisions that needed to be made (and by when). If you've done remodels/renovations before, you know how many decisions and purchases there are to make, and it can get overwhelming. Having Guy as our PM meant that the work progressed very smoothly (and especially it meant that my indecision did not delay the work either). Finally, I always felt that Guy had our best interests in mind. When surprises popped up (as they tend to do when you open a wall!), Guy was great about presenting us options (and how much they would cost) so we could make a decision. The bulk of our initial project was done on a tight timeline, and the AGA team completed it on time for us to move in to our new house when our lease was up. We ended up adding a few additional smaller projects on the end because we were so pleased with AGA's work. The AGA main office was also responsive in answering questions about invoices and other matters (thanks, Tami!). "Average. 1. Didn't level floor, shows in cabinetry. 2. Poor design, refrigerator placed in corner, so one door barely opens 90°. 3. One worker ripped out window (ad planned) late on a Friday afternoon and left a open hole in the wall during winter for the weekend. 4. Another worker ripped out my ATT fiber optic cable. Claimed he was justified because he didn’t know what it was. In regards to #3, someone was sent out at 8am on Sunday to patch the hole, but still had to deal with one night of the cold local Ocean air to rush in, over taxing HVAC. In regards to #4, Butel Construction paid ATT's service fee. But I never got an apology from Butel Construction for the worker doing such an idiotic action.show more

"We got a great price for our new roof. Ron, was very detailed and honest. He took his time to set & explain everything to me. The tear off & roofing team were very kind during all stages of the work... I had many questions and comments in which they answered them all. They tarped the roof right after tear off because I had rain the following day. The new roof looks very good and no more leaks! When the new roof installation was completed, they took care of all the cleaning and they left the house the same way it was before they start and it was to my satisfaction.
