"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"After contacting Bianco, he came out to our home right away and did an estimate. He was very honest and professional. We set a date for the project to begin, and he showed up early that day. He took out all the white tile and replaced the countertops with wood. Everything was cleaned up when he left. A week later, the granite was put in the kitchen and bathroom. A few days later the backsplash was put in and sealed. His work is beautiful! My husband and I are thrilled with the results. It was a pleasure working with such a professional that we could trust and knowing that he would provide us with beautiful results. We hope to use his services again in the future."

"It was an outstanding experience. Miklos Acs is a master, European trained craftsman who created a new shower that we enjoy every day as a work of art. Miklos, and his helper Saul, were neat and punctual, covering the carpet and hanging plastic to protect the adjoining bedroom from the dust from demolition. He does not use hot mop so the house remained habitable the whole time. He suggested an attractive drain that could be tiled in the same pebble tile as the rest of the shower floor making it nearly invisible. He repaired the wall and molding where the tub had been and carefully matched the wall paint. Every step of the process was handled with care. Miklos Acs has the integrity and skill that we look for when selecting someone to come into our home to make improvements. He is a humble and hardworking craftsman who raises tile and stone work to an art form."

"It went great. It was a big deal purchase and it did cost me more than the big deal purchase. It was like a deal for four hours for $100 so they did almost half of everything and then they gave me a pretty good deal on finishing up. I think they were a little ill-prepared for how much work that needed to be done. There were just holes everywhere because of the electrical. They re-patched all of the dry wall holes and matched the plaster to the wall. I think they were ill-prepared for that but because of that they gave me a pretty good deal on finishing it so I was pretty happy about that. The price was great. Everything was great. The guy was a little late."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

You can use some types of car wax to polish marble floors, as long as the polish is designed for use on marble floors. Read the label and test the polish on a small area of the floor first to see how it interacts with the marble. Car wax can help fill in or buff away small scratches, while polishing the marble for extra shine.

Yes, stains can often be removed using a poultice paste that draws out the stain. The paste is applied, allowed to dry, and then removed, lifting the stain from the stone.

To remove cloudiness from marble, use equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Apply it to the surface, allow it to sit for at least two hours, then wipe with a microfiber cloth. Another option is adding a couple of dish soap drops to warm water and wiping the surface after you’ve applied it to the surface. You may also consider using a liquid stone cleaner.

Due to the acidity, using vinegar to clean quartz countertops can actually damage them. In fact, doing so can cause discoloration and surface damage in the quartz. While it’s possible to clean other countertops, like laminate, tile, and butcher block, with vinegar, it’s best to stay from this cleaning solution if you have quartz in your kitchen or bathroom.

Yes, a granite countertop can be cut in place. However, learning how to cut a granite countertop in place is a lot trickier than cutting granite in an open, well-ventilated space. You’ll also need to protect everything in the surrounding area (like your kitchen cabinets and appliances), but even that might not be enough to prevent dust from getting stuck in tight spots. If you absolutely must cut a granite countertop in place, consider hiring a pro to get the job done in the cleanest and safest way possible.
