"Just finished a 2 month, $20K project with Back to Eden. Mostly hardscaping - 2300 sqft of concrete (some of it stamped and tinted), drainage, new gate, river rock, new retaining wall with custom capstone, firepit. We are very happy with the results. Pete was very responsive to phone calls and text messages. He has good people working for him and he hires good subs. Pete's crew made sure that the fence was closed up each day so we could let the dogs out and his crew cleaned up after each day's work. We had record rains this year and it slowed things down but Pete's crew worked around the storms. We would definitely hire Back to Eden again - in fact we have a few more projects on the bucket list and will be calling them again."

While hydroseeding is designed for bare soil, it is possible to apply it over an existing lawn with certain adjustments. For the new seed to be successful, it needs good seed-to-soil contact to germinate and take root. Without proper preparation, most of the new seed will fail to establish and will die. To hydroseed over existing grass, first mow the lawn as low as possible, then loosen and clear any exposed soil. Always mow the lawn on a short setting when overseeding. The thinner coverage offers more space for the grass seed to take root in the soil. When reseeding a lawn, however, you may need to remove your old turf altogether.

Whether you’re putting down fresh seed or reseeding, there are a few things to keep in mind when seeding your lawn. Be sure to choose the correct seed for your climate, seed at the right time of year, and water two to three times a day for the first week. Generally, Dudley recommends seeding in spring and fall as it is usually cooler and rainier.

Overseeding typically involves spreading grass seed either manually or with a machine that sprays the grass seed out and onto the soil. With power seeding, a machine cuts narrow rows into the soil and pushes the grass seeds directly into the soil.

Grass seed has the best chance of survival in a dry space with temperatures ranging from 30 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
