  • Avoid slamming the door. With years of use, the door switches could easily break. 

If a 240V appliance is connected to a 120V outlet, the lower voltage will cause that appliance to receive insufficient power. This may result in reduced performance, malfunctions, or even damage to the appliance's components. Depending on the size of your electrical circuit, you’ll likely need to reset a tripped circuit breaker at the very least.

On average, it will take a professional repair technician around one hour to complete the necessary repairs on your small appliances. However, the process could take anywhere from 15 minutes to three hours, depending on the extent of the damage and the specific appliance. For example, removing a built-in microwave will usually take longer than fixing a countertop toaster, as accessing the unit takes more time. The temperature on your oven thermostat is actually an average temperature. It’s normal for an oven’s actual temperature to vary by a few degrees at any given time. In other words, when you test the thermostat, your oven thermometer may never hit 350 degrees Fahrenheit exactly (though gas ovens tend to be more on the nose). You may want to take a few readings with an oven thermometer just to get a sense of why your gas oven is not heating correctly.
