"Top quality professional service!  Prompt and punctual.  Solved and corrected garage door problems of loud shrill and squeaky noises and sticking issues.  Performed entire service including replacing all door rollers lube and problem fixing and re-balancing with speed, knowledge and professionalism, and did not try to sell me anything I didn't need.  Explained everything that was done and provided all old parts that were replaced and did not ask for additional fees over what I paid for the bargain coupon.  I highly recommend this company for any garage door issues and Robert, who performed all this work, represented the company well.  My garage door now operates smoothly and quietly like I've never known before.

"My neighbors were very unhappy with the way he pruned the trees. That is the one I guess I wasn't able to be here at the time. I may be scheduled for the work to be done in May and that's when I wasn't home, later in May. It ended up being more and you are going to ask me how much and I don't remember. They did a good job but they just hacked at the trees.  I wasn't here to supervise them. If I had been here, then they probably wouldn't have done some hacking on the trees that they did.  I think they were responsive and professional."

"After having worked with Nathan previously on deck and driveway, we decided to remodel kitchen. The work was efficient, the crew was very good at what they did and courteous. Nathan is very easy to get in contact with for questions etc. Any small hiccups were accommodated and made up for. All of the work looks and works very well.

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

Double gates come with the same gaps as single gates, with hinges taking up a quarter of an inch of space. The difference is that double fence gates also have a center gap, which needs a little more clearance. Space the center gap at half an inch instead of the usual three-eighths of an inch for a single gate.

Generally, the standard 10- to 12-inch-long and 1- to 1.5-inch-diameter gate springs will work. However, if you have an especially wide, thick, or heavy garden gate, you may need to opt for a longer, broader—and pricier—model to ensure secure closure and good longevity. These typically range between 12 and 16 inches long and are over 1.5 inches in diameter.

For homeowners concerned about security, an electric gate may offer peace of mind. Electric gates will require a code or remote to open, so you don’t have to worry about young children getting out of the yard or someone breaking onto your property by simply swinging open the gate. But because it needs power to operate, installing an electric gate will be more complex and expensive.

The best under-gate dog barrier is one that extends to the ground. This effectively keeps dogs in and won't give them room to squeeze through. However, dogs that dig can still get under the barrier. Deter digging by paving the ground beneath the gate or filling it in with rocks or gravel. Be careful using wire to extend dog gates, as the sharp ends may cut or hurt your dog's paws.
