I found Zane (his company is called "Top Floor") while I was searching for a dustless hard wood floor refinisher online. I had 2 other contractors from Angie's List give me estimates - however I had some reservations about hiring them. I had just painted the entire interior of the house and I wanted someone with 100% dustless equipment (not just reduced dust) - also I wanted to meet the person who'd be doing the work up front (instead of a salesman). Zane has been doing floors for over 30 years and his professionalism and expertise and communication skills were apparent from the initial visit to evaluate the floors to the sanding, the repairs to when he applied the final coat. He was exceptional at responding to all my concerns, answering all my questions about wood and floors and setting my expectations clearly and accurately.

He does all the work himself and he did exactly what he said he was going to do. I was concerned at the start of the job that during the process I wouldn't be surprised by anything - since I've never had floors redone before. Zane encouraged me to walk through the job each night and ask him any questions I might have. This was reassuring, and gave me confidence that I'd be happy with the end result. He loves talking about floors (and building/construction in general) It's clear he takes tremendous pride in the quality of his work, and I was nothing short of absolutely thrilled with the final result. And so happy that there was NO dust to clean when the job was complete. There were a variety of special needs required by my project including sanding out a grooved parquet faux pattern in the hard wood in two of the rooms, replacing damaged wood in multiple areas, adding custom cut thresholds to doorways. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending Top Floor. His pricing was higher that the other estimates I received, but the quality of his work was exceptional, and his professionalism took the stress out of what had been an intimidating project.
