"Our kitchen remodel with McCormick Home Builders went beyond our expectations. Leoni and her team took the time to understand exactly what we wanted. The open layout design changed the way we use the space, and it’s been perfect for family gatherings. They were prompt, courteous, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy. "Jorge, Andy and their team at A1-Builders were knowledgeable, honest, reliable and above all always available to answer any questions we had. They helped build a 2 bed 1 bath 600sqft addition to our home during the lean months over the pandemic. We had multiple projects (pool, patio, retaining wall) going on at the same time with other contractors and the crew from A1-Builders were by far the most professional. They always made sure that they left their work site clean after each dayâ s work. Jorge will definitely be the first person I call for our next home project because I know that even if he does not have the time to do the work, he will always guide me in the right direction. Thank you again to the entire A1-Builder team!"

"This was an usual project. It was redoing a mini bar. Hard to find a contractor that would do it or had the time. Homepro was great lead by project manager Shir Hadad. Jumped right in there and took it on and got the job done. Really appreciate their professionalism."

"For years, I was very reluctant to move forward with changing out my kitchen countertops from granite to quartz, because I didnâ  t believe that I could trust a contractor to put a high level of workmanship on this project. My wife wanted quartz countertops very much, so I reached out to RMS Remodeling Experts and we met with Jez at his showroom. Jez explained our options and we reviewed the project in more detail. He answered all of our questions. I started to feel more confident and so we added a request to install pot lights to our living room area. Still, my wife and I interviewed many other top-shelf contractors for this job. We awarded JMJ the project and they did an outstanding job on everything. I was initially very concerned with incidental damage to my existing kitchen cabinets, but JMJ came into our home with a highly-skilled team and went to work. There was no damage to our cabinets and they even took care of resetting my plumbing connections; something other countertop contractors shied away from. They put a lot of care in controlling dust, protecting our laminate floors, covered up everything, and cleaned up the work site very well every day. The job was completed on schedule and the workmanship was high quality. My wife is very happy with the results. I am very happy with results and now I can go back to watching football. I am so glad I called JMJ Remodeling Experts. You should too. Leave it to the experts! Gerald M."

Garages questions, answered by experts

The life span of a newly painted garage door depends on the quality of your paint, the material of the door, and the climate you live in. If you’re confident that you’ll maintain the door as best you can, you can expect the job to last between 5 and 10 years.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.

Insulating an unheated garage can still be worth it. For instance, insulating an attached garage can help with heat loss from your house in general, and it can also make it easier to store electronics in your garage without worrying about them being exposed to extreme temperatures.

If you use your detached garage as a workspace, insulation can still make a difference. Plus, you can use space heaters and a window unit AC to help condition the space while you work without installing heating.

Garage door insulation can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years depending on the type of insulation. Cellulose has the shortest lifespan coming in at between 20 and 30 years, while spray foam, mineral wool, and fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years with proper maintenance.

Humidity plays a role in how long more susceptible insulation materials—like fiberglass—last. Once fiberglass batts reach the 15-year mark, you'll need to routinely inspect your insulation to ensure that it is in mint order.

Always lock the door that separates your garage and your home. However, garage doors are seldom entrance points for thieves. It takes quite a bit of work and noise to pry open a garage door, so thieves often opt for windows or unlocked doors. Unless they have access to the motor which controls the door, as long as it's functioning properly you shouldn't worry too much about it.
