Form + Function Design Studio is a Los Angeles boutique manufacturer focusing on high quality craftsmanship, using organic and sustainable materials to locally fabricate custom furniture and accessories for our clients. At Form + Function we can proudly say that all of our production and finishing happens right before your very eyes in our Los Angeles workshop. This way we are confident that you are getting quality products handmade by our skilled artisans who also call Los Angeles their home. We strive to build long-lasting furniture that can be passed down for generations, all while remaining true to our environment. By using FSC certified hardwoods, all natural materials (organic muslin, organic cotton filling, jute webbing), and of course being built in Los Angeles, we are leaving as little carbon footprint as possible. Although we value and specialize in a traditional approach to furniture building and upholstery, such as 8-way hand tie and low-impact materials, we can also do standard upholstery. So no matter the budget, volume, timeline or project, we can bring your ideas to life. Part of our approach to design and manufacturing is giving back to our community. We are currently participating in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) of Los Angeles' Chairing Styles program to build custom chairs in cooperation with design students. We give part of all of company proceeds to TreePeople Los Angeles, we have implemented a mentorship program with other local schools for up-and-coming furniture designers, and we are partnering with local artists and designers in many disciplines to showcase and promote their talents.
