"If I could give 6 stars, I would! D2A Construction just finished our kitchen remodel and we’re beyond happy. Dani was the project manager and truly went above and beyond. From helping us choose tile and fixtures, to keeping us updated on scheduling, to managing the contractors so things stayed on track—it felt like we had a partner the whole way through. We especially appreciated how respectful the crew was—our dog gets anxious around strangers, but everyone was kind and even brought treats for her (!!!). The kitchen turned out sleek, functional, and just feels right. We’ve already hosted two dinner parties and gotten endless compliments. I was dreading the idea of remodeling, but Dani and the D2A team made it smooth and surprisingly fun. Thank you."

"Jorge, Andy and their team at A1-Builders were knowledgeable, honest, reliable and above all always available to answer any questions we had. They helped build a 2 bed 1 bath 600sqft addition to our home during the lean months over the pandemic. We had multiple projects (pool, patio, retaining wall) going on at the same time with other contractors and the crew from A1-Builders were by far the most professional. They always made sure that they left their work site clean after each dayâ s work. Jorge will definitely be the first person I call for our next home project because I know that even if he does not have the time to do the work, he will always guide me in the right direction. Thank you again to the entire A1-Builder team!"

Customers say: True professional

"Leo was very helpful and quick to respond. We’re happy with how our 2 bathrooms turned out. Project was completed within the time promised. Our only complaint is that the workers did not clean up very well. But overall, we’re satisfied and we’ll use them again."

"You will never have a better experience than working with Burkman Builder. Our contractor Ryan was honest, straightforward, and his attention to detail is second to none. Upgrading our kitchen was daunting to start but Ryan not only handled every detail, he made it effortless. We even had an unexpected curve ball but he was able to adjust and kept the project on schedule with no added cost. We really enjoyed working with him and couldn't recommend him enough. We will definitely be using him on all our future projects!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

Costs depend on furniture type, size, complexity, and whether additional modifications are needed.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.

One of the most common house framing basics for decades has been using wood for the framing work. However, some framing contractors now suggest using steel frames. Steel is lightweight, resistant to fire, and resistant to moisture, all of which are areas where wood framing could cause problems. However, steel framing is more expensive than wood and limits your ability to insulate the home.

It's possible to turn your carport into a living space, but there are additional factors to address over turning it into a garage. HVAC, plumbing, and electricity won't be optional, and you'll need finished flooring, drywall, trim work, and legal ceiling height, for starters. Also, keep in mind that living space conversions may require upgrading the foundation underneath, and the permits might be more expensive as well.
