Customers say: True professional

"Ike and his team did an outstanding job. We had concrete decking and mastic around our pool that was cracking and needed replacement. They were efficient and expeditious in the way they removed the old concrete, and they were able to lay new decking that was a perfect match with the adjacent concrete. Ike is energetic, attentive, and a joy to work with."

"Andy was recommended by my former general contractor after a redwood tree damaged my old driveway. Of all the bids I received, I chose Andy for his fair pricing and thorough explanations about handling roots, permits, and timelines. He was responsive, professional, and treated the job like it was his own home. I hired him again for a concrete slab at my new house, and once again, he exceeded expectations—fixing pavers, adjusting the slope, and even resolving a subfloor issue before pouring. Andy is honest, detail-oriented, and goes above and beyond. Highly recommend!"

"Wow! Best contractor experience ever! My project was complicated, and I'm so thankful that I selected NC Marble and Stone Pavers. We replaced 3200 square feet of concrete with pavers around our pool. There was re-grading, new steps, and a heavy jacuzzi that needed to be moved. To make matters worse we were remodeling the swimming pool at the same time with a different contractor, so there were scheduling challenges. I was working from home so I was always going out to check on things, point out minor corrections, and ask their english-speaking crew member lots of naive questions. I made mid-project changes and special requests. Some things were damaged during demolition and I asked for them to be fixed. None of this was any problem for Alex, the owner of NC Pavers, or Eric, his sales manager, and their hard-working crew. They aim to please their customer and were happy to oblige every request I made, even AFTER the final project was done and paid for. Furthermore, Alex and Eric were easy to reach. They answered their phones and texts every time I called. And even though it was a 50-mile drive for Alex, he made a site visit on most of the job days to make sure things were going smoothly. At one point in the project there was a major complication because the pool contractor mounted his coping at the wrong height so it didn't match the paver steps. When the pool guy refused to own his mistake, Alex made things right by offering to fix the pool coping at cost. I would say that NC Marble and Stone pavers is a top notch company in both quality and customer service. And their price was the most competitive as well! "If you need concrete work, you can’t go wrong with Xtreme Concrete, based in San Jose. Owner Predro Correa and his crew removed and replaced a slab of concrete behind our garage. They worked quickly and expertly, and at a very reasonable price."

"Landscape Solutions did a great job and I would have them back again if I ever need additional work. They installed concrete and drainage in our backyard and walkway. This was a pretty extensive project that was done well. Not only are Scott and Norka (management) personable and honest, their workers are very pleasant and are happy to answer questions."

Small jobs welcome

"We highly recommend Brian O'Neill. He replaced a rotting deck for us. He showed up when he said he would, he stayed on the job to the finish and stayed within our very tight budget. He is hard working and very honest. Very good workmanship too. We will definitely hire him again for the rest of the deck. Patt MB, Los Gatos, CA Project: Replace old deck"

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Some homeowners have luck using pressure washers, but this only works for old or weaker concrete sealants and with very powerful pressure washers. You’ll get better results by pressure washing water-based sealants. However, it’s worth trying on any sealant if you’re hoping for the least toxic, least expensive, and most DIY-friendly option. To try this method, rent or buy the most powerful pressure washer you can find and take several passes at the concrete, completely pressure washing the entire area. You may need to repeat the process multiple times to see results.

Experts typically recommend pressure washing your driveway at least once per year to keep it looking great while preventing stains, cracks, and unwanted vegetation. However, if your driveway gets a lot of use, you might want to pressure wash it more often to keep it looking like new.

Periodic sealing and cleaning to maintain appearance and integrity.

Yes, a pressure washer uses less water than a garden hose. There are many ways to use a pressure washer, and it can be an eco-friendly hose substitute. While a pressure washer expels water with greater force, it uses 50% to 70% less water than a garden hose. Specifically, hoses put out six to 10 gallons per minute (GPM), while pressure washers only use two to five GPM.

One of the most important factors to consider when buying a pressure washer is not just psi but also the machine’s overall cleaning power. This is based on both the psi and the GPM. Look for a cleaning rating, or effective cleaning unit (ECU), of up to 8,000 for most residential cleaning projects that require a pressure washer.
