"We contracted with A+ Painting for a 2-part job. The initial phase was for the painting of our main house, which was completed Jan '19. The second phase was completed this week, and was for a small house situated on the same property. George and his team were professional, responsive, thorough and did a great job on the prep and the painting. George made several recommendations for woodwork that needed updating in advance of being painted. We very much appreciated the suggestions and had contractors manage this work. Their costs are very competitive, their bid came in several thousand dollars lower than others received. We are very happy with the completed results and highly recommend A+ Painting. We'll use them again for future painting projects."

"When I needed to do an emergency kitchen remodel due to water damage and exuberance of a local remediation company, I selected Adval due to their full-service contractor capability, reputation for quality, and willingness to work with me and my budget. Michael Yugo was particularly helpful, giving me insight and ideas as to how to approach fixing the red-oak floor, torn-up cabinets, drywall, plumbing, countertop, and kitchen cabinets. The job was started promptly and completed on time, with activity continuous throughout (unlike some contractors who might leave your job-site idle for weeks). I am very pleased with the result and care they took, and would consider them first for any additional new work."

"It was a great pleasure working with Pouria and Juan. I hired them to help build a 400 sq. ft. deck, and they were able to finish it within a week at a very high quality. They were incredibly flexible with all of our requirements?don't hesitate to communicate with them if you need anything changed during construction! They are absolutely amazing and efficient. They even did some extra work around our house, which will really help us in the long run. Their pricing is very fair compared to many other groups, and I will definitely go to them the next time I need a project done!"

"Eric and his EA Homebuilders team remodeled our primary bathroom, which involved moving walls, framing, plumbing, electrical, installing a tile shower, and finishes. I had never worked with them before. Their quote was competitive, their work progressed at a rapid pace, and they finished the project in the timeframe promised. There were 2 occasions where changes needed to be made and they were reasonably accommodated without any nickel-and-diming. Eric is a great communicator and is always asking the customer if they need anything. Working with a contractor for the first time is always a nervous experience, but EA Homebuilders delivered on everything, and they will be invited to bid on all of my future projects."

"OMG, this is hands down the best contractor team you will ever have the pleasure of working for you should you decide to use them. They can do any type of work you need. We had them pull old carpet, put in hardwood floors, paint, put in crown molding. Paint the outside of the house, fix the garage before painting, fix the back door and front door, so they are airtight, fix the white picket fence, move the mailbox and re-post it, put in a ceiling fan, install electrical lines, paint the porch, fix some cabinets, put in a beam on the porch, and so on as part of some remodeling. I could not possibly have had all this work done if they had not been extremely reasonable. I love the guys on this team. I trust every single one of them and Rolando has a better personality than any contractor I have ever worked with. Not only that he is honest and trustworthy. He does not ask for anything up front. Their work speaks for itself. All I can say is that I hate even posting this because I do not want them so busy I cannot get them to come back to my house. Honestly, these are the guys you want."

"He repaired worked that was done very poorly by a licensed contractor!!!!! At the end of the day keep an open mind about what you really may need a licensed contractor for-such as permit related work etc. You also pay more and may get less. Will hire again!!!"

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

It’s best to stick with lightweight cabinets, such as medium-density fiberboard, if you don’t have a wall stud to secure them to. Unless you’re attaching the cabinet to a flat board attached to wall studs, it’s best not to risk it with heavy cabinetry or contents. Solid wood cabinets and heavy dishware should be avoided if you cannot secure the cabinet to a wall stud. Either way, always check the weight on your wall anchors and be sure not to exceed it.

While a three-inch center-to-center handle is common, there’s no guarantee that sizing will be the same for every cabinet. Different types of handles have different sized holes to attach them and there are lots of different cabinet handle widths and styles. You should measure to be sure you know the size of a handle and to avoid surprises.

The 1/3 rule is a design guideline used by interior designers and cabinet installers to select appropriately sized pulls for cabinets and drawers. The rule suggests that for a balanced and cohesive look, a cabinet pull should be approximately one-third the height of the cabinet door or one-third the width of the drawer face. This guideline helps create a symmetrical appearance because the human eye tends to follow the length of the pull across the cabinet face.

While the 1/3 rule is a helpful starting point, it is not the only option. If a measurement falls between available pull sizes, it's generally best to size up. For an ultra-contemporary aesthetic, you can also opt for full-width pulls that span the entire drawer.

No. Drywall anchors aren’t a good choice for hanging a cabinet because the opening and closing of the cabinet door can cause things to shift, the weight of a mirror is more than most drywall anchors can accommodate, and adding the weight of items stored in the cabinet will make this an even more precarious option. Using the correct mounting bracket for the cabinet you choose is the best way to hang a medicine cabinet.

Unless otherwise specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, in most cases you should attach the hinges to the cabinet door before attaching it to the cabinet frame. Once you attach the hinge to the door, you can then align it with the cabinet frame and screw it firmly into place. Be sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for best practices.
