Small jobs welcome

"What a wonderful experience working with Welcome Home Landscape and Lawn Care. A tree company had unexpectedly taken down a eucalyptus tree, destroying my back fence, leaving a glaring view of my neighbors and creating a crisis for me and my three dogs. Ken from Welcome Home walked the land with me and we brainstormed together. He was kind and understanding, had great ideas for what we could do, and together we developed a plan in several stages that I truly believe will make a big difference. He recommended a fencing company that came out right away. We put in a deer fence that is such an improvement. Then Ken came and cleared the debris from the land, leaving a forest floor of light mulch from the leaves. The land has never looked better. Our next stage is to plant. I so look forward to working more and seeing it all flourish. I feel truly blessed to have found this company and worked with Ken. And my dogs are happy too."

"Basave landscaping did an incredible job with the Astro turf install in my backyard. The initial consultation was a great experience. He listened to exactly what I was looking for and sourced affordable materials to keep my budget met. His team got it done in one day and worked very ho*** ** all the details. "Tom Services Landscaping provided us with very competitive pricing for three highly visible projects at our home/property and did a fantastic job on all three. The custom white picket fence they installed looks great and was completed per our specifications. The circular driveway paving stone repair they did looked flawless and exceeded our expectations. The concrete sidewalk they installed looked super and was completed efficiently. Tom Gutierrez and his team are professional, paid attention to details, completed the projects as scheduled and left the site clean each day. We couldn’t be more pleased and we would definitely use their services again. Highly recommended."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Measure the area needing coverage and consult with suppliers on average depth requirements for each material. Calculations often use cubic yards for accuracy and practicality.

How much 4 yards of dirt will cover depends on how deep you want the soil to be. In general, a yard of dirt will cover 324 square feet for a 1-inch depth or 100 square feet for a 3-inch depth. Therefore, you can expect 4 yards to cover between 400 and 1,296 square feet if you keep your soil depth between 1 and 3 inches.

Yes, you can put topsoil over sand to encourage grass growth. The topsoil will help to improve water retention and promote grass roots’ development, making it a recommended step of the seeding process. Adding a layer of topsoil will provide additional nutrients to the sandy soil, helping the grass grow and remain healthy through many seasons.

Landscape boulders, especially porous stones like sandstone or granite, can crack or break over time. Cracks occur when water seeps into the surface of the stone and freezes. The risk is highest when it rains during the day and temperatures freeze overnight since the moisture has time to penetrate deeper into the rock before expanding.

Yes, a cubic yard of dirt will fit in most standard-size pickup trucks. However, consider the truck’s payload as well as the truck bed dimensions before loading it up with dirt. Soil can be quite heavy, and if the total weight of a yard of dirt exceeds your truck’s payload capacity, you risk damaging the chassis and suspension.
