"We are very pleased with the remodeling of our kitchen, which ended up including renovating the Living/Dining and Family rooms as well. Betzler Construction personnel are professionals and do quality work at a reasonable price. They have done other work for us over the years, and I have always enjoyed working with them. I would, and have, recommended Betzler Construction to others in the Sacramento, CA area."

"Matt has done various extra jobs for me that pertain to maintaining my pool.  A pump replacement that was required resulted in a reduction in my electric bill....just as he said it would.  Also, I had a light out in the pool that three other companies said they could not fix.  Some tried and could not fix it because they couldn't get the wiring out due to too many "U" turns in the wiring.  Matt said he could fix it and I had my doubts.  He came and had it fixed and working in about 1 hour!

"Good work on the pathway and lighting. They also graciously did extra work such as installing screens on a rain gutter and building a pergola. However, with the pergola, I did ask for a white polycarbonate roof panels and they installed transparent panels."

"Bruce came across on the phone as both a nice guy and a competent resource for a drainage project. His crew did a nice job well within the agreed timeframe. The job exceeded my expectations and the testing of the drainage system was reported as successful. I'm actually looking forward to our next rainstorm. I consider myself lucky to have located him thru ServiceMagic."

"Tito and his crew were wonderful! They really listened to my vision and worked with that when making the design for my yard. They also built lovely wood structures to really create an oasis in my yard. (Trellises for vines, raised garden beds, short fences to block the view of my AC unit). I am so very pleased with the end project!"

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Lifespans vary by material and manufacturer, but pond liners last anywhere from 10 to 75 years. For example, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pond liners have a life expectancy of up to 20 years. Other types of pond liners, including those made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), can last 40 to 50 years.

Yes, your fish should stay alive in a frozen pond if you winterize it properly. By ensuring your pond has enough oxygen, good water quality, and a hole to release harmful gases, your pond and fish have the best chance of staying alive and healthy. However, if you have tropical fish, they should be overwintered indoors.

You can use the outdoor spigot to do many things like cleaning patio furniture, washing down driveways, or watering plants. You can also attach outdoor hoses and some sprinkler systems to your spigot, making it much easier to keep your grass and plants watered. When connecting a hose or sprinkler system to your outdoor spigot, pay close attention to the manufacturer’s instructions, as they can ensure a snug fit with no leaks.

Installing an outdoor water fountain costs $2,700 on average, not including the cost of the unit. Prices range from $150 to $10,650, depending on your location, the type of fountain, size, and accessibility to the site. Self-contained fountains and water features recirculate the water within the unit. Depending on size and features like multi-tiered cascading bowls, they typically cost from $50 to $5,000. More elaborate fountains with waterfalls and ponds can cost from $450 to $10,000 or more.

How many fish can call your pond home depends on the volume of the pond and the fish size. Your pond's filtration system also influences the number of fish that will thrive in a pond. A general rule of thumb is to have 1 inch of fish for every square foot in a pond that's 2 feet deep. Another rule of thumb you can follow is to have one koi fish for every 200 gallons of water or two goldfish for every 200 gallons.
