"**UPDATE**

Unfortunately i need to update my review.

The initial installation went very well. Matt was a pleasure to work with and took the time to explain everything to me. There were some bumps, like he ordered the wrong item for the screenlogic (iPhone remote access), but overall the install went fine. He even cleaned the filters and fixed my lighting at no extra charge.

The problems started to occur post installation. The Screenlogic stopped working and after several attempts and more effort then i would have liked to get him out he called the Pentair support team. They were fantastic and fixed the issue which turned out to be a firmware issue with the Pentair hardware Not something Matt could have fixed but it took a while to get the right people out.

Next, two leaks developed in the new piping. I eventually got him to come out and he fixed one but his attempt to fix the second (intake to the new pump) he sprayed a bunch of yellow foam all over and beside making a mess it did very little.

The final issue was probably the biggest. I finally had the solar pool people come out b/c my solar was NOT getting anywhere near temp. After looking at it the solar person realized the temperature sensor was connected to read the water coming down instead of going up to the roof, so it always thought it  was near temp and kept turning on and off. Instead of trying to get Matt back out i just paid the solar company to fix it.

And for the leak going into the pump i finally fixed it myself with some silicone.

I like Matt personally and things got off well, but given what's happened since and the challenges in getting him back out i'll likely look elsewhere in the future."

"Good work on the pathway and lighting. They also graciously did extra work such as installing screens on a rain gutter and building a pergola. However, with the pergola, I did ask for a white polycarbonate roof panels and they installed transparent panels."

Small jobs welcome

"Bruce came across on the phone as both a nice guy and a competent resource for a drainage project. His crew did a nice job well within the agreed timeframe. The job exceeded my expectations and the testing of the drainage system was reported as successful. I'm actually looking forward to our next rainstorm. I consider myself lucky to have located him thru ServiceMagic."

"Tito and his crew were wonderful! They really listened to my vision and worked with that when making the design for my yard. They also built lovely wood structures to really create an oasis in my yard. (Trellises for vines, raised garden beds, short fences to block the view of my AC unit). I am so very pleased with the end project!"

"I think they stuck very carefully with the design and executed it in a professional manner. I could have had the work done a little less expensive but I would have had to purchase the plants independently. I would also have had to contract with someone to get the dirt and the rocks and the other stuff, but they took care of everything; so I didn't have to worry about that."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

Most outdoor water fountains and features do not use a lot of electricity, typically consuming between 100 and 250 watts per day. The size of the fountain's motor can impact its overall electricity usage. To reduce energy consumption, you can use a timer to automatically turn the fountain off at night or when you are away from home. Additionally, installing solar power components can help lower electricity costs after the initial investment is recouped.

Yes, it’s possible to DIY a plunge pool and shave labor costs off of the project total. If you’re considering a DIY build, keep in mind that you will be responsible for pool installation and landscaping (which may require excavation). This type of DIY project is best left to particularly handy homeowners who have prior pool installation experience.

Costs depend on design, materials, plumbing, labor, and optional lighting or filtration features.

Even if you empty your pond before the winter, there’s a good chance it will refill naturally. It’s ideal in most cases, then, to leave water in your pond and winterize it instead. This method will prevent ice damage and protect wildlife. Plus, it’ll lessen the steps required to reopen your pond in the spring.

When deciding whether or not to turn off your pump, you should consider your area’s climate and the aquatic life in your pond. If you live in an area with freezing winter temperatures and don’t have any wildlife, keeping your pump on could damage it. If you have aquatic life but live in a colder climate, you might consider keeping your pump running and adding a pond heater.
