Climate control is a more sophisticated form of heating & air, which allows the temperature of the interior of buildings to be accurately controlled. This is different from air conditioning, which has its speed and amount of air controlled by a person. This form of HVAC is the future of comfort, and that's where SoCal Climate Control stands apart. We offer smart home solutions, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of zoning and energy efficiency, coupled with a "bang for your buck" attitude. Bringing the best of both worlds to your home, business, and family.

"DO NOT hire SoCal Climate Control (or AttiClean; Mike Molloy owns both and uses both for jobs) unless you want them to waste your time and take your money for an incomplete job that violates building code. We hired AttiClean for a simple job: install dampers on 2 duct lines, route a new duct to our kitchen, enlarge our intake grill & duct, and insulate our supply plenum. None of these 4 tasks were completed without issues. They showed up with the incorrect damper sizes, incorrect return grill size, and incorrect return duct size. Day 1 consisted of their workers running around getting correct material and concluded with them cutting into an attic beam that was not professionally assessed. When I asked the worker if he could cut the beam, he replied "I don't know" which was incredibly concerning. The job was stopped so that the co-owner's HVAC "professionals" at his other company, SoCal Climate Control, could resume the work the next day and assess the beam. Day 2: The co-owners Mike Molloy and Todd Morelli determined via picture they could cut the beam (a licensed individual never inspected the beam in person). Mike's workers from SoCal Climate Control were scheduled for 12pm, but they didn't showed up until after 5pm. They worked very fast, and concluded the job a little after 8pm. I had concerns that the workers would be tired and rushed and do a bad job, but I didn't know how bad until the next day when I went into the attic to see why my condenser pump wouldn't stop running. To start, I could barely even open the door. The new 18" duct line completely covered the attic door and encircled the attic entrance. This is a violation of building code and is illegal. As of today Mike, Todd, AttiClean, and SoCal Climate Control refuse to abide by code and fix this. Once I got around the ducting, I noticed 2 other issues: 1) there was also a large tear in the return duct at the return plenum, and 2) the new 18" duct was smothering our condensation pump and the workers wound the condensation line so tightly with a kink, it couldn't drain (hence the noise). This was a major issue because eventually our drain pan would fill and leak into our attic and ceiling. It took another 4 days to get back on the calendar and we were instructed to not use our AC in the middle of August until the repair. Day 3: AttiClean was supposed to arrive at 8am. They never showed. Instead, SoCal Climate Control got pulled in and didn't arrive until after 3pm (their window was 12-2pm). They tore apart the new ducting and attempted to reroute the line, but concluded they would have to find another solution. In the removal process, not only did they tear up the entire 18" duct line (exposing fiber glass insulation everywhere) they damaged another duct line not a part of the job (smashed our bathroom fan duct, rendering it completely unusable). Since it was late on a Saturday and no AC store was open, they said they would loosely put everything back together and come back the next week with the necessary material to finish the job. Not only did they never come back, they left us with more issues than they arrived with on Day 3. The attic entrance was still blocked and still violating building code; they never insulated our supply plenum per the original work order; the tear in the return duct to the return plenum was significantly larger and I'm pretty sure we have fiber glass fibers blowing now into our FAU and breathing air; the 18" duct line was completely torn up throughout; they smashed and tore apart our bathroom duct; and they removed a good chunk of our newly done attic insulation and never replaced it. The co-owner of AttiClean and owner of SoCal Climate Control, Mike Molloy, emailed us that they finished the job per the work order and if we want any of this fixed we would have to pay them the same cost of the job (essentially double). What a scam: "I'm going to completely block your attic entrance for $900; you want that fixed? $800 more please." Images can speak for themselves. Please save yourself the time and energy and go with another company. We are now in the process of hiring another company to clean up their mess. All of this could have been avoided with better management, quality training, and appropriate processes in place; a direct reflection of the leadership and ownership of these companies."

THE SERVICE is a small company that doesn’t do everything but only that which is extremely important for you as a homeowner. When I think of what the home has become in the last three decades as a contractor and a personal home dweller, a few critical issues always raise their ugly head from time to time. When we not only eat and sleep, and then work in this castle almost 24/7, we have to first consider the quality of the air we breathe. That’s pivot point number one! The second imperative thought is, how clean is that spacious attic that graces the above ceiling over us rate when it comes to toxic or contaminate debris? Next is how costly and how pure is that cool air that’s pumped through those vents of ours to keep our plush lifestyle without sweat or toil? Lastly, and maybe not so common to us surf rats her in sunny So Cali, how effective is that furnace which produces heat when we’re shivering to the bone? There are tons of cold shouldered, huge corporate companies that do, so called Air Conditioning 365/24/7 for a measly buck, while The Service is just a phone call away. I’ve been there, I am there and will be in the future, so let me, as the owner of The Service, take the sting out of not knowing what you’re getting into before you regret. I won’t play the mystery card or deal from the bottom of the deck, what you see is what you’ll get. I’ll provide quality, be efficient and transparent in everything I do.

Air duct cleaning services FAQs

Some of the best methods professionals use for cleaning air ducts include a rotary brush system or a push-pull vacuum system. A rotary brush will scrub dust and debris loose from the inside walls of your air ducts. Typically, the rotary brush will catch most of the dust, but a vacuum will help remove any remaining loose particles. The push-pull method forces air into the duct from one end, and a vacuum on the other end pulls that air and the dust it loosens.

Although you may only need to clean your air ducts every three years or so, keeping them clean and clear can offer several benefits including:

  • Improve indoor air quality

  • Help alleviate allergy symptoms by reducing mold and pollen in the air

  • Save on energy costs by allowing maximum airflow efficiency

  • Reduce odor

  • Prevent mold and mildew

  • Help extend the life of your HVAC system

  • Reduce the risk of house fires from dust and debris build up

The cost for air duct cleaning is about $380, on average. However, costs can range between $270 and $500, depending on location, number of vents, duct accessibility, and how much cleaning is required. Additional factors can impact the cost of cleaning your air ducts, such as removing pests, mold and mildew, asbestos, and other unforeseen needs. Any repairs will also add to the cost of the job.

Yes, air duct cleaning can remove mold from HVAC systems. Air duct cleaning pros can use tools and methods like brushes, cleaners, and vacuums to remove mold from air ducts. Hiring a reputable air duct cleaning service is essential for successful mold remediation from your HVAC system. Keeping your air ducts clean can also help prevent the conditions that allow mold to grow in your vents and ductwork.

Knowing when your air ducts need cleaning will help keep the air in your home as clean and breathable as possible. Here are a few signs that it’s time to call an air duct cleaning service:

  • Odor coming from vents

  • Dirty vent covers

  • Visible mold growth

  • Clogged air filters

  • Noisy air ducts

  • Weak airflow

  • Signs of rodents or insects near vents

  • High energy bill
