"I wasn't sure what to expect when hiring a leak repair and mold expert. After his inspection, Jared told us what the process would be. Then, sealed off the area affected and did a neat clean up and rebuild for us. Fortunately, his prices were reasonable and his workmanship was great. After his team finished, the area was re-assembled nicer than when the builder did the work. Hopefully, we don't have any more leaks in the wall. But, I will call him again, if I have a need."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

There are two types of mold symptoms in the home: visible mold and unexplained health issues. If you have allergies out-of-season, brain fog with no other obvious cause, constant congestion, and other such symptoms, you may have a mold problem. Oftentimes you can smell mold in your home, even if you can’t see it.

Identifying harmful strains of mold helps prevent respiratory and allergic reactions.

The flooring that is the least toxic is solid wood. Natural linoleum, tile, stone, bamboo, and cork flooring also make the list of least-toxic flooring types. These flooring materials are safer and healthier for your home because they are natural materials that aren’t manufactured with chemicals, unlike laminate flooring. While some laminate flooring brands are made with less formaldehyde, many contain high levels of toxic chemicals that can off-gas in your home for months and years after installation.

Choosing natural flooring materials that are easy to clean without chemical cleansers can also help keep your home safer.

If your home was built before 1989 and still has original vinyl, there’s a high probability of asbestos mixed into the old flooring, which can harm you and your family if it’s disturbed from removal. If you suspect that you have asbestos, you’ll want to call in an asbestos removal expert to evaluate the situation.

When used in the correct quantity and with the right procedures, boric acid will produce fumes with limited to no toxicity. You’re more likely to experience adverse side effects from boric acid toxicity by accidentally ingesting it or touching it with bare skin. All the same, wearing an air-filtering mask is a good way to keep even minorly toxic fumes out of your system. Don’t forget gloves, too!
